wHAT SPEED do you run your trike in 5th gear? It seems like mine will run 45 in 5th without problem.IT WOULDN'T do it on two wheels.Does anyone think it would get better gas mileage if I woul run it in a lower gear

Yep, finally have a use for 5th gear. I cruise in 5th at 55mph and up. I drop to 4th at 50mph. Its all about the rear end gearing.

Going from a 3.03 gearing to the 3.73 gives you an extra 500 rpm's that the engine likes at those speeds. Mine 3.42 but am seriously thinking of switch to the 3.73 over the winter. I could use that gearing when in hilly country pulling my trailer.

Yup! I can be in 5th as low as 40 mph...

The higher gear you are in, the better gas mileage you are getting in general terms.
