bikenut Posted August 17, 2011 #2 Posted August 17, 2011 Are you sure it is unlocked. I had to ask sorry
david Taylor Posted August 17, 2011 Author #3 Posted August 17, 2011 yes it is unlocked, that is the first thing i thought of also
mm482 Posted August 17, 2011 #4 Posted August 17, 2011 I jammed mine also and had to cut the roll pins in the hinge. I took a small dermal tool with a small cut-off wheel. I went between the two hinge parts and cut the roll pin into. The lid would then unlatch. I used a small pin punch to drive the old roll pins out. A local machine shop had a new roll pins. I was three hundred miles away from home when this happen. I was sure glad I didn’t have to have what was in the bag. Earl 86 VR 07 RSV
MikeWa Posted August 17, 2011 #5 Posted August 17, 2011 I did the same with mine. I was able to pry the back of the lid open enough (just a crack)to reach inside with a long thin screwdriver and trip the latch. Mike
BOO Posted August 17, 2011 #6 Posted August 17, 2011 Yeah ECK and I opened mine 4 or 5 years ago in Eureka Springs with a broom handle. Ruined the broom handle but got the bag open. One of my boots was jammed into the locking mechanism and won't allow the latch to trip. Maybe ECK still have the broom handle. Good Luck and be Gentle, BOO
