rumboogy Posted August 16, 2011 #1 Posted August 16, 2011 Just curious when Yamaha releases info and pics of their 2012 bikes (RSV? and/or otherwise)? Wally
MidnightSpook Posted August 16, 2011 #2 Posted August 16, 2011 I did a search a few days ago and it appears they were released on Sept 1st last year
Kregerdoodle Posted August 17, 2011 #3 Posted August 17, 2011 RSV??? what have you seen Pigs with Wings warming up??? LOL Just curious when Yamaha releases info and pics of their 2012 bikes (RSV? and/or otherwise)? Wally
rumboogy Posted August 17, 2011 Author #4 Posted August 17, 2011 Thought I'd stir some people up. Actually, I was curious about ANY 2012 models...kinda figured they may skip the RSV this year.
donaldj2242 Posted August 17, 2011 #5 Posted August 17, 2011 Was thinking about posting the same question. My bet is 2012 Stratoliner Touring, like the Kawasaki Voyager, V-twin with all the goodies.
RSTDdog Posted August 17, 2011 #6 Posted August 17, 2011 Was thinking about posting the same question. My bet is 2012 Stratoliner Touring, like the Kawasaki Voyager, V-twin with all the goodies. I'd say that's a very good bet. They already have the fairing and lowers for the Strat Deluxe, all they need is a trunk, cruise, and cassette deck and they will be all set. RSTDdog
XV1100SE Posted August 17, 2011 #7 Posted August 17, 2011 Yamaha does their new model announcements in September/October. Word in a previous thread is that a new model RSV will be out in Fall of 2012 for 2013 model. My thinking is that the RSV will be unchanged for 2012 (still with cassette) but will come with the iPod connector in the saddle bag since the cd-changer has been discontinued. With all the EV and hybrid cars coming out... maybe they should skip fuel injection and go to an all electric bike?

Like,,, clothes pins with playing cards or baloons in your spokes !!!

Like,,, clothes pins with playing cards or baloons in your spokes !!! They are lobbying for hybrid cars and EV's to make sound so pedestrians could hear the vehicle. Just think... the Venture sounding like a Harley... or a Harley sounding like a Ferrari ! Vrrrroooom Vrooooom instead of "potato potato potato" !

phertwo Posted August 17, 2011 #12 Posted August 17, 2011 Its got a nice look to it, but does it have the gear whine..?
Red Rider Posted August 17, 2011 #13 Posted August 17, 2011 I heard from a Yamaha dealer that there is talk of dropping the venture for one year and brining it back with a detuned Vmax engine and a new look. Just like they did with the Vmax.
etcswjoe Posted August 17, 2011 #14 Posted August 17, 2011 I heard from a Yamaha dealer that there is talk of dropping the venture for one year and brining it back with a detuned Vmax engine and a new look. Just like they did with the Vmax. They must be getting close to using all the parts they made back in 99. If a company did make too many parts one year can they slap them together and call them another year?
Mike G in SC Posted August 17, 2011 #15 Posted August 17, 2011 with an iPod hookup, you could "plug in" any sound ya wanted .... Ah, the answer is SOUNDRACER audio plug-in's http://www.soundracer.se/ They got them to make your 1995 Ford Escort sound like a Ferrari V12,,, FROM THE INSIDE! So, they could come up with Vance & Hines Shotguns Bluetooth for your full face helmet!!! CRANK IT UP!
Freebird Posted August 17, 2011 #16 Posted August 17, 2011 Here's the sound that I would want. http://www.funny-funny-pictures.com/insanity/

mini-muffin Posted August 17, 2011 #21 Posted August 17, 2011 Nothing has been said about what will happen to the Venture by Yamaha. The dealer meeting is in Sept. The only models Yamaha has on the website for 2012 is the 950 standard model and the touring model. The 650 is no longer going to be made this was the last year for it. Margaret

Just like they did with the Vmax. Haven't we been hearing this for about 3 years? God, I hope it's true. It'd be nice to have a new Venture that can keep up with the first gens
