starting engine

Can these engines be started on the bench. I know that a chevrolet engine can be started outside of the car, can ours? I am thinking of an 83-84 1200.

I would say yes if you have all the wiring to support the engine and tci

If you hook the TCI in and properly energize & ground pins it will.

 

Of course it needs fuel source, cooling reservoir, some big bolts to hold it down !!

 

It will run like crap, but it will run. These motors are very temperamental to intake air flow steam & exhaust.

 

You will have to remove u-joint on middle drive gear.
