Carbon_One Posted August 10, 2011 #1 Posted August 10, 2011 The site that is. Been trying to log in since about 3pm. No go till now. Anyone else have a problem or is it just my server? No other sites were affected on my end thou. Larry
Trader Posted August 10, 2011 #3 Posted August 10, 2011 Me too....I was getting a bit concerned....just wandering around, lost ...randomly hitting the "refresh" button. Kind of pathetic really!
oldgoat Posted August 10, 2011 #4 Posted August 10, 2011 same here been trying since 2pm and just now got on?
BuddyRich Posted August 10, 2011 #5 Posted August 10, 2011 The server farm had a major power outage. Probably affected a bunch of sites.
GAWildKat Posted August 10, 2011 #7 Posted August 10, 2011 I was in withdrawal!!!!! :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:
Freebird Posted August 10, 2011 #8 Posted August 10, 2011 Sorry about that folks but there was absolutely nothing that I could do. The entire data center in Dallas where our server is hosted had a power outage. The automatic transfer switch to standby power apparently ALSO failed. So it was a big mess. I got...uh...well lets just say a FEW emails that the site was down. I am actually in Long Beach, CA this week for a trade show and was busy setting up the booth all day today. Even if I could have gotten away from that though, there was nothing I could do. Again, sorry about the down time but sometimes things are just out of our control.
rumboogy Posted August 10, 2011 #9 Posted August 10, 2011 So Freebird, you gonna pro-rate our yearly dues since the site was down for a few hours. I think it comes to about 0.0212 cents or something close to that... Just put mine towards next year. Wally

BuddyRich Posted August 11, 2011 #11 Posted August 11, 2011 Don. You been to the beach yet ? You'll probably get in trouble if you go.
Carbon_One Posted August 11, 2011 Author #12 Posted August 11, 2011 Whew glad to see it was a relatively minor problem and that it wasn't just me. Larry
steamer Posted August 11, 2011 #13 Posted August 11, 2011 OMG!!! Thank god its back. Robin was about to call the paramedics. Thought i was going to have the big one. That was a close call.....Please don't let that happen again.
Freebird Posted August 11, 2011 #14 Posted August 11, 2011 Don. You been to the beach yet ? You'll probably get in trouble if you go. Naw...doubt I'll even go. I can see the beach and the Queen Mary from the convention center but I'll be buried with business every day.
mini-muffin Posted August 11, 2011 #15 Posted August 11, 2011 At least it wasn't like the last time when we had the big "C" word. Don't want to go through that again. It's ok Don you can't fix everything, we just think you can. Margaret
Yammer Dan Posted August 11, 2011 #16 Posted August 11, 2011 Couldn't get on here so I went for a ride and helped fix a 2nd Gen.
bkuhr Posted August 11, 2011 #17 Posted August 11, 2011 Think maybe still problems going on, was also 200 active users, refreshed screen and only 3 active users-2 members and 1 guest. Starting to climb back up I suspect as users refresh/click new screens.
ragtop69gs Posted August 11, 2011 #18 Posted August 11, 2011 I hate the feeling I get when my comfort zone is disrupted! I wandered around not knowing what I was gonna do to pass the time while VRO was down. I have a yahoo group I set up years ago incase the web site for Diamond T trucks went down, we could use it as a clearinghouse for time like this afternoon when VRO was MIA. Here is the link to the group http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Diamond-T-Trucks/ feel free to check there for other lost souls if the board ever goes down again.

I can't believe a man with your powers couldn't do nothing! (is that a double-negative or sumpin?)
Bubber Posted August 11, 2011 #20 Posted August 11, 2011 Don't ever do that again! What the heck am I going to do at work if it is down???? :rotf:
FuzzyRSTD Posted August 11, 2011 #21 Posted August 11, 2011 Naw...doubt I'll even go. I can see the beach and the Queen Mary from the convention center but I'll be buried with business every day. Glad everything is back up to par Don. Myself, like the others, was really worried about all this. I thought, man did I forget to pay my dues or something. Trying not to be to nosy here, but just wondering what you do on the job Freebird ? I know you travel a lot. But what is a Field Tech's job ? Fuzzy
Venturous Randy Posted August 11, 2011 #22 Posted August 11, 2011 Well, I missed it. That was about the time Linda and I left the Chinese Buffet in Boone, NC and was getting on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a beautiful ride. RandyA

Fuzzy I work for a company that manufacturers sign letters and cast and acid etched plaques. So most of my time is spent meeting with sign companies and architects and some trade shows.
Flyinfool Posted August 11, 2011 #25 Posted August 11, 2011 I first noticed it down a few minutes after 12:00 noon. With this site down it made me actually look like I had nothing to do at work. I was already cranky cuz I am not in Muncie IN on vacation right now, Then this site going down.......... There were nearly fatalities at work.
