Glad you came through in one piece. Give the information to your insurance company. Let them track him down and argue with his insurance.

Glad you walked away from it Brad, I have a left front crash bar might need a little adjusting but its not scraped up, if the insurance Co. won't help.

Glad to hear you're OK Brad, I've read the FB posts, also glad Rhonda didn't have a heart attack! You guys ride home safe.

Brad, good to hear nothing too major. Bikes can be fixed, people, well that's much tougher. Really glad you and Rhonda are good. See you back home here north of the board soon. Ride SAFE Bro!

All is good. The bike is okay, 4 crash bars have some metal removed and has a little flat. The two front fairings tabs sheared off clean and should glue back together (I have a good friend who is a certified plumber and works with ABS all the time :cool10:).

My self, a sore hip, two small bruises on the knee, and a small bump on my elbow.

He appearantly took off very fast as soon as his light turned green. (is what I meant by jumped the green). I had an advanced green. This is a large intersection and which I did not approach too fast, but when the light changed yellow I slowed more and continued. I am not sure but must have been in the intersection when his light turned green. I still believe he should have waited untill I got out of his way .

Need to get the police report to see if it is worth calling the insurance.

That split second that you saw the car saved yourlife. You saw it panicked and reacted as would we all.

I agree with the above.

Yes, I would get right on that Brad, ASAP. Do not talk to the individual yourself. Let the insurance company talk to the fart brain and make sure they know you have witnesses. Also tell them what happened after you went down, the part about him going on and the older gentleman taking action to get the license number. Still glad you are doing OK. If you never get any kind of settlement, at least you might shine a little light on the whole thing for the fart brain and save some else or even his life.

I don't understand that at all!!

"There was no accident"...so you dumped your bike on purpose?

"as he went through a green"....if he jumped the light it wasn't green yet...unless you were going thru a red or failing to yeild, SOMEONE was in the wrong.

Glad you are OK. Sounds like not much damage for "flipping" side to side.

Sadly in many of these types of situation the cop will say " well if you got a piece of him we could lay charges " Try doing that with a bike without killing yourself.

I have heard that many times to. If you do not manage to make contact then it is you that lost control and crashed by over compensating for what the other driver did.

With my truck I have no problem getting a piece of the bum, but I am not sure how to do that head on with a bike and still be able to ever tell my side of the story.

Hello Brad,

I'm glad, as all the others are, that you are ok. I hope Rhonda is also. Sometimes watching something like that can be worse since it was the man of her dreams getting hurt.

Now that your bike is christened, hopefully nothing more will happen.

I hope you are able to enjoy the rest of your time away, and the weather cooperates.

I got a copy of the police report and the guy got a ticket for failing to yield. I talked with the officer and she told me the guy lied to her twice and when she confronted him he told her the truth so she ticketed him. His statement on the police report is in italics "I believe the motorcycle was on the left side of the left turn lanes. I didn't notice there was a vehicle making a left turn. I think the motorcycle driver hit break when he saw me and fall off seat."

I called his insurance and was told to make a claim against him so I did and emailed them the police report. Within hours someone called me back asked me a bunch of questions and then I got frustrated and said you read the report and she said yes and then said it was there clients fault and they would repair the bike.

I took it to a Yamaha dealer and called them back and they transfered the claim to their Canadian office. They sent someone out to look and take a lot of pictures. This is where they got a little funny making promises of someone calling and no one ever did. After calling a bunch of times the estimate was missing a few items so I got frustrated and asked for someone else to come and talk about the claim line by line. They did and it was sorted out in a day. A new offer was purolated out to me and I accepted a fair cash offer.

Overall I was quite impressed with State Farm Insurance company I think the biggest problem was that they were not familiar with Motorcycles and that confused them.

I called the fellow that helped me to thank him and told him what happened. He commented to me that he travels that road daily and noticed that the advanced left turn light changes from yellow to red quite quick and he complained to the city. They are investigating it but appearantly it takes about three seconds from yellow until the green light turns, on the opposite traffic. The intersection is almost 160 feet across and the left turn arc length is approx 180 ft to clear the interestion. City engineers are thinking it should be 6 seconds before the light changes. Maybe they will change it and prevent this from happening again.

Not happy I went down but overall happy with the outcome. :thumbsup2:

Funny thing in Wisconsin the police report gives you his name, address, driver license number, birthdate. Makes finding someone real easy.

Worst part is anyone can look at all the accident reports and for two bucks you can take a photo copy home with you. That would not happen up here.

Only had two phone calls and one letter all from legal offices in Wisconsin.
