MikeWa Posted August 9, 2011 #1 Posted August 9, 2011 Today I was riding south on Interstate 5 when the front end began to wobble. First it tried to dart left then right then left again. The wobble continued back and forth for about ten minutes. Really had to hold on to the handlebars. In fact it didn't stop until I got out from behind that semi truck. It happened again later when I was on the 410 highway too. Mike
twigg Posted August 9, 2011 #2 Posted August 9, 2011 I guess check all the usual issues. Last time that happened to us it was the road surface. Sure felt bad and it was a turnpike ... We had to pay for the privilege.
Yammer Dan Posted August 10, 2011 #3 Posted August 10, 2011 (edited) Trucks with different loads will really play with it. Check tire pressure and see if Steering head needs adjusted. You have Jack's (Condor) brace on it yet? Edited August 10, 2011 by Yammer Dan
ragtop69gs Posted August 10, 2011 #4 Posted August 10, 2011 You have Jack's (Condor) brace on it yet? Brace ???????????? What brace.... I haven't seen no brace. Got a link?
Yammer Dan Posted August 10, 2011 #5 Posted August 10, 2011 Replacing Fork Brace with a heavier one. I don't have pics but there are threads on here about it. Can you do a thread search. My PC slower than a 2nd Gen right now.

IH Truck Guy Posted August 10, 2011 #8 Posted August 10, 2011 . My PC slower than a 2nd Gen right now. And there you have it folks, the gouge of the year......... Well done Dan....
Yammer Dan Posted August 10, 2011 #9 Posted August 10, 2011 (edited) Yammer, the scoot is too slow for a fork brace, after all it's a 2nd gen & not a 1st gen..... Missed that. Those things are everywhere now aren't they? Except in front of me.. Please ignore my answer. I was thinking about a real motorcycle!! LOL MikeWa the tire pressure, steering head adjustment and wear on tire still apply. But some of those trucks will just beat you to death. Different loads catch air different I guess. MikeWa Posted August 10, 2011 Author #10 Posted August 10, 2011 Thanks for all of the sound advice. But for now I think I will just stay out from behind large trucks. Mike

twigg Posted August 11, 2011 #12 Posted August 11, 2011 Thanks for all of the sound advice. But for now I think I will just stay out from behind large trucks. Mike Must be just an unhappy coincidence ... My Yamaha Triple hates passing trucks ... especially if there are several of them. It wobbles and shakes it's head a bit. The VR, otoh, just blows past them with not so much as a wiggle.
