FuzzyRSTD Posted August 7, 2011 #1 Posted August 7, 2011 (edited) Someone/several have ask about these. I have had these on my bike and they work great. They are more like a floorboard and are comfortable. They adjust in two directions too. They also fold up for to allow you to get in close places. There cheap compared to other foot rest. I have had them for two yrs now and they work and look great. Not covered in rust as I first thought they would be. I ride in rain and wash my bike with water and then blow it off with a $25.00 electric leaf blower from Wally World. Update : I called JC Whittney and talked to customer service specialist. She looked up all the product Sku # difference in the two and they are exactly the same. So why is the price difference I said. Her answer is that the price changed with another factory order and they never changed or updated it on the Webb site. So order this and save $10.00 , Fold-up Highway Floorboards for Harley-Davidson SKU #:1JA 019631 Mfr. #:019631 Ships on 08/29/11 Set $39.99 http://www.jcwhitney.com/fold-up-highway-floorboard-set/p2006697.jcwx?filterid=d17361y2007o60j3 Fuzzy Edited August 28, 2011 by FuzzyRSTD
FuzzyRSTD Posted August 7, 2011 Author #3 Posted August 7, 2011 Mel, you can see it as soon as you click on the link I posted. But I added picture anyway, because I know we have rules around here. They look kinda cheap, not really chrome look, but kinda aluminum like. I was worried that they would just rust badly, but they did not. And here is a picture just for you too. :thumbsup2: Fuzzy
capn eddie Posted August 7, 2011 #4 Posted August 7, 2011 I have these on my 87 and i love them .they have been on for three years and no rust .
Gray Ghost Posted August 7, 2011 #5 Posted August 7, 2011 I wonder if these would work with the lower wind vents?

FuzzyRSTD Posted August 8, 2011 Author #7 Posted August 8, 2011 Thought you might have a pic of them (it) mounted on your bike. Ok Mel. Sorry I misunderstood. I will try and get that done tomorrow evening for you. It never even crossed my little mind at all that you wanted bike pictures, my bad. Fuzzy
ArcsSparks Posted August 8, 2011 #8 Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) Had them two years, love 'em and at 50 bucks what more can you ask? BTW my leaf blower was 5 bucks at a yard sale 5 years ago works great (beats the 200+ for the Master Blaster) Edited August 8, 2011 by Arcs&Sparks added content

Mel Posted August 8, 2011 #11 Posted August 8, 2011 Mel has no imagination..... Well, some guys' imaginations allow them to think that they are humorous. By the way, thanks for the pics, I just wasn't able to perceive how they look when attached, probably due to lack of imagination. One of the first things to go at my age.
Condor Posted August 8, 2011 #12 Posted August 8, 2011 Well, some guys' imaginations allow them to think that they are humorous. And some folks don't even have a sense of humor.......

By the way, thanks for the pics, I just wasn't able to perceive how they look when attached, probably due to lack of imagination. One of the first things to go at my age. Don't blame you a bit Mell. I would have done the same thing and I am 47 yrs old. I just did not even think of pictures with bike. My imagination and assuming things has gotten me in trouble several times. If you do not believe me, then ask my wife. My wife seems to think that everyone can understand her with only bits and pieces of the puzzle. "You should be able to figure the rest out on your own", she says.
Midicat Posted August 9, 2011 #15 Posted August 9, 2011 Ok Mel, got you some pictures. Fuzzy Is there any issue with the boards "spinning" on the crash bar? I guess I need to know that they are "solid" and don't move around when you rest the full weight of your legs on them. Thomas

I guess I need to know that they are "solid" and don't move around when you rest the full weight of your legs on them. Thomas No, they only pivot up to let you through some tight places. Once set back down, there is a stopping point and they do not move past that point. They do not spin in any way after tightening them down. You may adjust them to suit your fancy. I have mine set so that my feet and heels sit flat on the boards. They have never moved once after I got them adjusted. You would want to adjust them while you where wearing your riding boots. I found this out the hard way because I first adjusted mine with my work boots on. I had to readjust for my harness riding boots. These boards are made of some sort of aluminum alloy. The mounting studs are steel and chromed. Fuzzy Edited August 12, 2011 by FuzzyRSTD

I had a set of these that were used on another bike when I bought the Venture. I temporarily used them (I thought) on the Venture while the Kuryakyn Longhorns were being shipped. After adjusting the "new" longhorns a dozen times trying to fnd the comfort zone----I decided "Purty" is not always comfortable. The J C Whitney boards are back on to stay! I did change the clamp that mounts the boards to the engine guard because there was no clearance between the big clamp that came with the boards and the lower flaring. Freddie
bknsaddle Posted August 9, 2011 #19 Posted August 9, 2011 Does anyone know the difference between the HD version and the other version other than $10?
pickinfred Posted August 12, 2011 #20 Posted August 12, 2011 Fuzzy, What's the ROAD RAGE thingy? Fuzzy, The Road Rage Box, Kinda think we might need one of those.............WHAT IS IT???? Freddie
FuzzyRSTD Posted August 12, 2011 Author #21 Posted August 12, 2011 Fuzzy, What's the ROAD RAGE thingy? That is part of my speaker system. It is the booster, can not remember the wattage. It works great, part of a full speaker kit that I put on my bike. This is the only place I could find room for it and also keeps it dry. It is vell-croed in place there. So far has worked well for past two yrs. Fuzzy
FuzzyRSTD Posted August 12, 2011 Author #22 Posted August 12, 2011 Fuzzy, The Road Rage Box, Kinda think we might need one of those.............WHAT IS IT???? Freddie Part of my speaker system, the booster, not sure of the watts without looking it up on e-bay. It is a good system so far. The speakers mount on your handle bars. I have had and used for two yrs in the rain and washing and all. No problems... Not loud enough for me with just a small cheap MP3 player. But with the GPS built in MP3 and more expensive MP3 players, the system is very very loud. Fuzzy

Fuzzy Thanks Fuzzy, I sorta thought it might be some kind of a gizmo to counter "Road Rage", which I suppose it is. Playing "Bluegrass" loud and clear would calm about any irate or angry person!
