Did you install them on the tank facing down or did you put them a little higher on the tank facing in?

I purchased led strips from Harbor Freight. It took four strips. Two on each side. cost about $7 each. I attached them with two sided tape and connectors from the local computer store.

I put some under the tank, some under the seat and on the front lower fairing. Attached are 3 pics showing the colors but if you go to the site you can see all the colors this particular kit will do - and it's remote. you can strobe, flicker - all sorts of ways to light up. Plus it's plug and play. I also went to the extreme and put them on a relay -
