GAWildKat Posted August 2, 2011 #1 Posted August 2, 2011 Looking to find out who is camping @ Vogel and has space on the plot for 2 newbies to camping and willing to give us a guiding hand at this. We had planned on hoteling it, but hubby is itching to try out the new tent. Let us know! Kat
TheKid Posted August 2, 2011 #2 Posted August 2, 2011 I am thinking of riding down Friday after work with my sweetie and our lil one (dog). We would also be camping and looking to maybe share a site with someone. I pull an aspen classic and i know in most parks we are allowed to set up two on one site or one and a tent. This will all depend on weather for us and the funds as well. I know the park hours are until 10pm so we def should be able to make it before they close. If there will be available spots I will def split the cost. I hope I can make this and meet many VRs in person again and new ones as well.
GAWildKat Posted August 2, 2011 Author #3 Posted August 2, 2011 I should mention that Hubby and I could be in the area as early as Sunday, but as late as Tues. His parents live near the park, so we will be somewhere nearby. Neither of us did the scouts as kids so we really are THAT green at this and really need the help. We will happily split the costs of the campsite with whomever wants to show us the ropes. Our roomie will help us with the details of packing the bike for the 1st time, so I'm covered there. So who will help a couple of 30 somethings begging for assistance lol. We're looking fwd to meeting all of you!

You could also tell them you would like to be in a spot next to us and we would be more than happy to help out the "Green Horns":). We will be down there Wednesday afternoon. See ya there
Eck Posted August 3, 2011 #6 Posted August 3, 2011 Here are some ideas from my boy scout days... Scatter a few small bags of peanuts on the ground of your neighbor who is camping across the street from your camping spot As the days pass, pour all your half empty drinks onto this same neighbors camping spot. Late in the evenings place a few scraps of food on this same neighbors picnic table. Dont forget to smear a little peanut butter on the rear side of your neighbors tent seat too.. Wont be long for the entertainment to start.......... No you know why I don't camp anymore...
GAWildKat Posted August 3, 2011 Author #7 Posted August 3, 2011 Hubby's thinkin of camping out tues-thurs and moving to the hotel Fri, he doesn't want me (the disabled one) to do too much on the trip and push myself too hard without a nice tub to soak the muscles in. I know, I'm hard to accommodate lol.
Yammer Dan Posted August 3, 2011 #8 Posted August 3, 2011 I'll be there looking for place to put the Red Roof Inn. (My tent) I seem to attract Bears??? I have slept in the parking lot....
