Gassy smell when opening throttle?

If I crack the throttle wide open quickly while at highway speed, I smell gas, the smell goes away as I resume normal speeds , all carbs appear dry externally, thoughts oh wise ones?

Sure it is not you passing gassey from the acceleration? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Mine did that and one of the air intake tubes had come off of the top of the carb. I pulled the tank and you could see a tiny gap between the top of the carb and the tube from the air box. It also caused a little thumping type feel when I rolled back on the throttle. Sort of like a big v twin does.
