bike nut Posted July 25, 2011 #1 Posted July 25, 2011 I have a 1st generation. The oil indicator on the dash is always on.My oil level in the sight glass is where it is supposed to be.My question is can I bypass the oil sending unit?I have soldered the display unit.
Marcarl Posted July 25, 2011 #2 Posted July 25, 2011 Have you checked to make sure that the connectors from the unit are making contact?
dingy Posted July 25, 2011 #3 Posted July 25, 2011 Are you sure it is the oil light? 2nd down on left side is brake fluid. 3rd one down is oil. The oil level indicator is on very bottom of the motor near the front. A single wire leads to the rear and up the left frame near the air dampener control knob. If this wire is grounded on the wiring cable side it should turn indicator off. Gary

Gary Light has been coming on from time to time for the last month and all the checking and changing oil has not done a thing. Now you post this to make me look like a fool. Think I'll go check the brake fluid now. Oh by the way, Thanks for the post.
