dz Posted July 22, 2011 #1 Posted July 22, 2011 Been doing some research. It appears as though a vmax exhaust setup (prior to 2007) "should" fit into a venture royale, at least the headers should bolt up, since they used the venture royale engine in the vmax. It looks as though the exhaust is obviously more up swept then the venture royale 1300 exhaust. Has anybody ever attempted this feat.? They have some really nice vmax exhausts. Even if one were to buy vmax headers the number of aftermarket slip ons is way better than the venture royale's (a.k.a. NONE).
MikeZ06Allen Posted July 22, 2011 #2 Posted July 22, 2011 I believe this has been attempted to some degree. The may issue is the suspension arrangement of the VR versus the VMax. The VMax uses two shocks mounted outboard of the frame whereas the VR uses a single shock mounted in the center of the frame. This greatly limits the orientation of the rear header pipes. The next issue is mounting the mufflers. This is easier to make modifications for and some on the forum have had some success with this approach. I have a Marks pipe collector but I am still using the stock pipes at the moment as I am chasing a carb issue and I want to may sure the muffler is not the issue. Someone will chime in with more knowledge I am sure.
dz Posted July 22, 2011 Author #3 Posted July 22, 2011 Mike, What is this marks collector? Does it allow the use of vmax pipes?
MikeZ06Allen Posted July 22, 2011 #4 Posted July 22, 2011 It is a direct replacement for the stock collector box. I have not tried mounting anything other than the stock muffler so I do not know for sure if a VMax muffler would work or not.

remmertb Posted July 22, 2011 #6 Posted July 22, 2011 I've got a set of vmax exhaust and Kerker slip ons I'll sell for $200 + shipping (guessing $40) pic attached. Went to a 4-1 on my max, don't need this set anymore.
dz Posted July 22, 2011 Author #7 Posted July 22, 2011 Remmertb, Hello. Do the kerker slip on's come with the collector and headers? I will pm you. Thanks.
dingy Posted July 22, 2011 #8 Posted July 22, 2011 Below are some pictures I have collected of VMax exhausts. In its stock form it will not fit on a venture. The VMax version of the collector crosses from the right side to the left in the area that the mono shock occupies on the Venture. In the area that the Ventures collector box sits there is a crossover pipe between the front two headers on the VMax. The term slip on's, in the VMax context are also unusable on the Venture. The Super Trap slip ons might be modifiable to fit, have not gotten any info other than pictures on them. I had a person get me an inside measurement from a VMax stock front pipe and it is identical to a Venture as far as I.D. goes. 1st picture is stock front headers with crossover pipe. 2nd is of stock complete system from front. 4th is of stock complete system from bottom. 5th is a super trap slip on system. The 6th is of a Marks collector on the bottom and a stock collector on the top. The 7th is of a Kerker header that I have been told may fit. They are about $1,100. If some one gives me one I will test it and return reports every 30 days until it wears out. 8th is of a set of super trap slip ons. I have been held a some by a guy in Kansas that rebuilds VMaxs for a living. I asked him about a 4 into 4 system and he said that would kill the HP. These motors need the cylinders connected to induce scavenging in the pipes. This is where the exhaust flow is kept moving in the pipes. There is one header system I found that may work and it uses a 4 into 2 system. And I don't know the name of it offhand. It ties the left cylinders into one muffler and the right two into a separate muffler, sides are not interconnected. Gary
