shamlaw Posted July 18, 2011 #1 Posted July 18, 2011 Ok guys and gals thanks for the information on the intercom system, the problem was the headsets were not wired for Venture. While out riding today found a 1986 Venture Royale with everything but the kitchen sink. The bike has only 26000 miles on it has been sitting for about two years. Owner is asking $1100 is this a deal or what, I have a 1983 that I have to use for parts:mytruck1:

dingy Posted July 18, 2011 #4 Posted July 18, 2011 There are some differences from the 83 to the 86. Rear luggage & racks totally different Front forks brakes & rotors different. Rear brakes & rotor different. Both brake masters. Carbs. Engine block & pistons. Maybe the rear shock. Wiring harness. Most of the electrical controls. Probably instrument cluster. These are the main ones that come to mind. Gary
bongobobny Posted July 18, 2011 #5 Posted July 18, 2011 Yes it sounds like a good deal but plan on rebuilding the carbs from setting too long, and plan on changing all the vital fluids as well. Check the date code on the tires, especially the front one. As Gary mentioned in his response there is a lot of stuff that won't work, but a lot of stuff will interchange like upper fairings, fenders, and rims minus the rotors to name a few...
