Condor Posted July 17, 2011 #1 Posted July 17, 2011 Back in '09 while trailering the bike up to Cody I lost my bifocal glasses. I didn't discover it until traveling thru Yellowstone. I pulled into a rest area to read a map of the park and couldn't find my readers.... I searched all over the inside of the truck and even drove all the way back to the West Gate to see if they'd fell out of the truck when I opened the door to take out my wallet for ID. No soap. The only other place I'd gotten out of the truck was at the Craters of the Moon in Idaho and I sure wasn't going to drive the 200+ miles back there to see if someone had turned them in to lost and found. So.... I went the whole week riding with my shades, but it was a PITA trying to read a menu or see after the sun went down. When I got back home I bought a new pair. Never totally liked them, but at least I could read a menu... This morning while trying to wire up the trailer on the '99 I went looking for a circut tester. I have a half dozen, but do you think I could find one anywhere? So I figured I must have one in the center consul of the truck. Went out, opened up the lid and started to dig around. My CC is as bad as my garage. You guessed it. Tucked down on the drivers side of the mess was my lost glasses. Searching from the drivers side I couldn't see them, but from the passenger side there they were. What's ironic about this whole thing is I lost them going to Cody, and found them while getting ready to go back to Cody. Go Figure!!!
FuzzyRSTD Posted July 17, 2011 #3 Posted July 17, 2011 Could you still see out of them ? Figured they where scuffed pretty bad. I hate to loose something like that and never find it. Glad you did. I have lost stuff and said to myself that I believe someone stole it. That was a double bitted ax, and I found it a week later. Where I had misplaced it. Fuzzy

Fuzzy Nope, just a little dusty. I can see again. Like I said the replacements were a waste of money...

I remember you poking in there, while at the motel, shortly after checking in. I was also with you, when testing out other glasses at the Cody Walmart. But, for where you found your long lost glasses..... :rotfl: I packed 2 sets with me for my trip & haven't lost any (so far).
SilvrT Posted July 17, 2011 #7 Posted July 17, 2011 The question here is..... did you find a circuit tester? LOL
Sylvester Posted July 17, 2011 #8 Posted July 17, 2011 Just a huge age thing. I am always looking for something, and it is usually within my site.
Lone Eagle Posted July 17, 2011 #9 Posted July 17, 2011 The question here is..... did you find a circuit tester? LOL OE VAY - don't know if we even want to go there - Condor's probably buying another one now!
Condor Posted July 17, 2011 Author #10 Posted July 17, 2011 (edited) I remember you poking in there, while at the motel, shortly after checking in. Yep, I did... Two or three times. DOH!! The question here is..... did you find a circuit tester? LOL Yep.. found one of those too.... my lucky day... I thought bifocals were for older folks? I had my first set of bi's when I was 16. The fact that the optician wore tri-focals should have told me something. Then I went to an opthomogist around 25 and the guy said I didn't need any. He was right until I turned 45. Then it was back to the bi-specs again. So...yeah... they's for old folk... Edited July 17, 2011 by Condor
Sailor Posted July 18, 2011 #11 Posted July 18, 2011 We have 10% Tuesday here. Ten % off in the stores. That is when the blue rinse babes and the bi-focal boys get out and play bumper car in the parking lot. I used to work for the airlines. A passenger told me he had lost his contact lens on the plane so I went to look for it. I slid my hand down the side of the cushion of his seat and the lens went right up under my fingernail. Took me all of ten seconds. The passenger was impressed. I told him I had torn the seat apart to find it.
SilvrT Posted July 18, 2011 #12 Posted July 18, 2011 I had my first set of bi's when I was 16. Lucky you !!!!
tcoop Posted July 19, 2011 #15 Posted July 19, 2011 I'm always misplacing my reading glasses. I now have 1 pair at work and 4 pair here at home, and I still have a hard time finding them.

Sailor Posted July 19, 2011 #17 Posted July 19, 2011 Fortunately I only need drug store glasses to read. I have 6 pair so why can I never find even one.
