It's wonderful how reliable these bikes are... Isn't it?

The one thing they don't contain is a big wrench for the left axle nut???? Oh well, guess you can't have everything...

Amazing! I've owned this bike for two years, and just discovered where Yamaha hides the tool kit.... :cool10:

:sign20:

That's yer own fault for taking so long to wear out that tire.:stickpoke:

And since this must be the first time you removed the bags, make sure you get the spacers and bushings back right. Once in a while one will fall out when moving the bags around the shop.

I imagine they didn't know who could lift the bike up on the side of the road anyway.

LOL One of the first things I did when I got my 2nd Gen was check out the tool kit. Compared to the one that came with my 86 Venture Royale, I wasn't too impressed. So now the owner of my old 1st Gen has a really nice tool kit from a 2nd Gen and the 1st Gen toolkit is riding in my 2nd Gen's saddlebag. Works for me.

I dont think I ever used the stock tool kit other then to reach the spark plugs. I made up my own little bag of tools, mostly stuff from Harbor Freight.Plus a few assorted screwdrivers, pliers, etc. Some elec tape and an assortment of cable ties and fuses round it out.

Thomas:

In MY kit (I am not certain what is original) there are five sockets: 19, 17, 14, 12, 10mm. I believe there should be six sockets, but I am uncertain what size the sixth should be. I have a box end wrench in 17 and 14mm. There should be another box end; size unknown. Two combination wrenches: 12, 10mm. Large single end box end wrenches: 27, 22, 19mm. "YamaCo" Deluxe adjustable wrench.

I am currently looking for accurate information as to what tools are in the original, unadulterated OEM kit for a Venture Royale.
