Brake Pad Posted July 18, 2011 Author #26 Posted July 18, 2011 The bike shop checked everything over, Yep, Its the New Battery, putting out 10.8 volts, One cell is bad. I wonder how long my new battery sat on a shelf, til I got it. I bought it like 7 months ago. Now I have to find the receipt, Come with a receipt, they will replace it free. Where's the friggin receipt!!!!!!!!!

Brake Pad Posted June 15, 2012 Author #29 Posted June 15, 2012 Here I go again.... I just installed a new battery for the sale of the bike. I had the battery in the bike for 6 days, and I go to start it, Click, click, click. I found out my NEW Battery, wasn't a new battery. I heard the guys in service talking, it was a service battery, the age of the battery was "L Zero" December 2010. I came back in with that one, and ordered a New up to date battery. (I didn't know how to read the battery date until now)
djh3 Posted June 15, 2012 #30 Posted June 15, 2012 So they gave a you a shop test battery for your replacment back in 2011 or whatever it was the previous post was?
MikeWa Posted June 15, 2012 #31 Posted June 15, 2012 Sometimes new stuff goes bad. That's why they come with a warranty. Glad you found it before your trip. Mike

Brake Pad Posted June 15, 2012 Author #34 Posted June 15, 2012 either the mechanics in the shop have no F#####G clue what there doing, OR they just have NO F#####G CLUE!!!!!! I tend to think Both.....
djh3 Posted June 16, 2012 #35 Posted June 16, 2012 My son has an 05 Scion TC that ever since new has eaten batteries. Orginal lasted like 2yr. Then it would just up and quit no rhyme or reason or warning. So dealer put 2 more in under warranty with in like 2.5 yr. 3rd time my son said you keep it I'll buy my own. It still goes dead once in awhile if it sits like 2-3 weeks without running. Dont make sense, but something has got to be killing it thru the charging system. Many moons ago we use to have problems with the diodes in the GM alternators "sticking" open. The diode would open to charge battery and not close when car was turned off. Would slowly discharge battery. The first time you saw it it drove you nuts to trouble shoot, second time round you looked like a genius.
