PA. 2 brothers dead at the hands of a drunk retired cop.

A man driving a pickup truck was driving in the opposite direction when he crossed into their lane hitting them head on. He was speeding and is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. The man responsible for this tragedy was kicked out of a bar not far from where the incident occurred not long before the accident. That man, John P Heaney III was NOT arrested at the scene and has not been charged yet.John P Heaney III is a former Plainfield NJ police officer that retired after a disability claim. He was NOT arrested at the scene. I'm sure that if he plowed into a mother with her children or a group of kids on bicycles he would still be sitting in a jail cell. But he just hit a group of bikers.

We need to do all that we can to make sure that the man that caused this accident with his careless actions does not get away with drunk driving - and causing an accident that left two wives without their husband, and their children without a father.

You should forward this to the AMA as they are very interested in legal action against people who kill others in traffic accidents with only minor consequences to themselves

Some attorney will say he was "off balance" when he walked into the bar because his sugar level was off from not taking his meds...and he was having a sezure....the bar tender (paid under the table...) thought he was drunk and refused to serve him..the retired cop got back in his truck, not realizing he was in the wrong lane and the accident occurred..

There was a legislator in PA that kept wrecking state cars. Afterwitch he'd go to a bar and get even more hammered... cause he was so "shook up" and what not... don't think they ever caught up with that Jack Waggon!

Exactly. Does not matter who you are, the laws are there for a reason and should apply to anyone. There was an accident a couple years ago where a woman drunk off her but hit and killed a biker. She was not arrested and never charged, sighting a mental illness. Her response is that she was sorry and will try not to do it again.

We notice more when a LEO does not get charged, but all walks of life get away with things. Shaun

Thanks Shaun, thats what I was getting at. If a Badge makes a mistake he is just as guilty as anyone else but people seem to want to make a big deal of it. We have some good cops out there. We have a Deputy Sheriff here that has cost me a LOT of money in the last few years because he didn't do his job so it goes both ways.

This has a familiar ring to it but it was an on duty drunk cop killing a biker (worked for DFAS)
