Louisiana Swamp Tour

We took Bradt, NaughT and their daughter Brooke on a Louisiana swamp tour at Honey Island Swamp while they were here and to New Orleans the next day. Here are some pics of the swamp tour, didn't take my camera to NO.

Is the feeding of alligators legal in Louisiana?

Thats a big No-No here in Florida.

I know when we did an airboat trip in Louisiana, they fed the gators marshmallows to get them to come closer to the boat. Many would come up to the boat expecting to be fed.

nah, gators are pretty tame.

Actually alligators aren't agressive like crocidiles. As far as the legallity of feeding them I don't know but it must be ok or the swamp tours couldn't do it, and probably why they can't in Florida is because of the crocks.

When i was in Florida in January we went on an everglades tour and the grizzled old tour guide fed every gator in the place. He had 3 or 4 right up to the side of the boat with the hamburger buns he was tossing into the water for them.
