I had already talk to the dealer on a new GW when they arrived 2 2012 was on the floor, then the wife got involved big mistake..:(

After looking and riding we went to talk, now the wife is being real nice let me pick the spot to eat great I want a burger and a beer, she set the hook on that.

Plan was to eat a burger and drink one beer, it was hot that day too, so after she order a pitcher....Hmmmmmm.... Wife drinks maybe a cup full and I never let draft beer go to waste..

After all said and done she had me convince that I should trade my truck in on a car, so I got 2012 Nissan Altima....

Lesson learn never take wife to look at bikes and never let her order a pitcher of beer knowing you will be drinking it, but all in all I'm happy since I never use the truck that much...:no-no-no:

Yeah, that is what I said about not needing a truck. Done that once, now will always have a truck, the car can go bye bye.

Back in March I was on the verge of buying a small motorhome. Wife was pretty much on board with the idea although we were questioning how much we would use it right now. Anyway, son shows up to visit one weekend with a new Dodge hemi pickup. He took me for a ride and we went to look at the motorhome I wanted. Long story short, I decided we wouldn't use the motorhome enough to make it worthwhile right now and wound up buying a new Dodge pickup that same day. I think wife is a lot happier with the new truck. In your case, if Mama is happy everyone is happy and you WILL get the new bike !!

You know all of us wives are different in many ways, I suppose. First of all, Ron never wants any thing "new", he would always buy used. Ron wants a kayak now, I said sure. If he wants a kayak go buy one. Ron and our son will be using it. I will never use it because I do not swim well enough. Now if he wants to buy me a pitcher of draft beer, I will not mind that at all either.

Of course, a kayak costs a bit less than a GW. However, if he really wanted one I would say all right.

So if Ron and Mark kayak, Peggy just might go play that game of golf I gave up about 10 years ago.

It is a plan.

We have been in very deep discussions about selling the home and getting a 5th wheel when I retired in few years, we both know the pro and cons of it and wonder if we wouldn't want a home base somewhere down the road I have good friend that lives like that and he loves it sets his camper up in the middle state and rides the bike all over..

Now.... You need to take your wife to an Italian place and get a pitcher of Sangria. Then ask for clearance to get the GoldWing. All's fair.....

Wives are SMART. My wife won't let me get a gold wing either. Likes the confort on the RSV, so there you go. And I'm not disapointed either. Guess I'll let her stick around to make a few more dicissions.

I learned a long time ago not to take the wife shopping for anything. Her last car was a complete surprise because she didn't even know she was getting a new one. She made a mistake and left me alone for a whole weekend - left on Friday afternoon and didn't come back til Sunday late.

When she did get home her new (1 year old) car was in the drive with a big red bow covering the hood. Her first comment was "did you sell my other car already ? "

Nope - we can do that later -

she doesn't leave me at home alone anymore
