Shot Posted July 4, 2011 #1 Posted July 4, 2011 I feel as though I have posted this before, but just read it again. I'm off to Florida this Wednesday to see the last launching of our shuttle this Friday. I remember Sputnik; I hate it but I will find out if I'm too old for this long a ride. Wish me luck..........
CaptainJoe Posted July 4, 2011 #2 Posted July 4, 2011 I'm gonna watch it on the TV. Kind of pi$$ed me off about the causeway tickets. Have been trying to get them for two years with no luck. Florida tours along with other bus companies get the bulk of them and scalpers get the rest... just check Ebay out...Pathetic...
Guest HdHtr Posted July 4, 2011 #3 Posted July 4, 2011 Have a good trip, wish I could make it down there to see the last shuttle go up. I will watch the launch on TV though.
Zane Posted July 4, 2011 #4 Posted July 4, 2011 When it gets up to 25000 ft, I'll watch it from my front yard! Wish them a safe flight and return! From then on, they'll have to take the Russkie Taxi!
MiCarl Posted July 4, 2011 #5 Posted July 4, 2011 I hope it goes while you're there, they often are delayed. Kind of sad really. It's going to be the first time since I was a toddler that this nation won't have a way to put a warm body into orbit. Meanwhile it seems like all the emerging economies are almost there. Hopefully the private guys will come on soon.
Guest Posted July 5, 2011 #6 Posted July 5, 2011 Ill probably head down to Daytona Beach and watch it from there Friday AM.
Eck Posted July 5, 2011 #7 Posted July 5, 2011 I bought (5) of these coins last week for all the kids in the family. Shot Posted July 10, 2011 Author #8 Posted July 10, 2011 Ill probably head down to Daytona Beach and watch it from there Friday AM. I went down to Ponce Inlet just south of Datona Beach and watched the lift off. Understand a million people at Cape Canaveral so I backed up to this location. It didn't last but a flash due to the clouds, but I WAS THERE........I looked all over but didn't see you.

TDunc Posted July 12, 2011 #10 Posted July 12, 2011 Yep, my son and I were both there too. We went just a little further south. Just south of New Smyrna almost at the National Seashore entrance. Same there. Just a flash but we were there. We heard alot more than we saw.. Still Way Cool. Then, back to Ormond Beach for Golf, Baseball, Food, Swimming, and then over to Orlando for a day. Now its back to the real world.
