GG54172 Posted July 1, 2011 #1 Posted July 1, 2011 Something like this? http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/271405/images/golf-rack.jpg I want to build on that doesn't cover the brakelight/license plate. Possibly off to the side of the saddle bag.
Trader Posted July 1, 2011 #2 Posted July 1, 2011 if you had a first gen (Mk I) you could just pop off a saddle bag and make a vertical mount for the golf bag.
RedRider Posted July 1, 2011 #3 Posted July 1, 2011 Would probably be easier to fabricate a small trailer. RR
Eck Posted July 1, 2011 #4 Posted July 1, 2011 I'd be afraid of those that do have one on thier bike..I dont think it would be very safe.. I mean, just knowing most of the guys on this forum, they would be more interested in "playing with thier putter"........... then watching where they are going... not to safe....

It ain't safe I almost took out a GW last week that was hauling a weedeater crossways on the back, car in front of him made a turn and like most he veer some to the left center line and the head of his weedeater was headed for my truck, I veer to the right to miss it had I not notice the GW and looking at his bike I might have hung the weedeater Edited July 1, 2011 by scarylarry
adventurer Posted July 1, 2011 #6 Posted July 1, 2011 when I want to carry my clubs I remove the left saddle bag and stand the golf bag in the bag guards, a couple of bungies and away we go
Shamue Posted July 1, 2011 #7 Posted July 1, 2011 i've seen a couple carriers for golf clubs that go in the trailer hitch receiver on the net. has a rack and clubs stand striaght up.
Sailor Posted July 2, 2011 #8 Posted July 2, 2011 I saw a bag made for bikes. It was a hard bag that split in two and you could mount each half an each side of the bike. I am not much of a golfer so I just got a soft bag that I can sling over my back. It holds putter, 3 iron and 9 iron. room for a couple more. Oh, and a couple coolers.
etcswjoe Posted July 2, 2011 #9 Posted July 2, 2011 I can't tell you about golf clubs but I can tell you how to carry a .243 rifle on it.
j_berg Posted July 2, 2011 #10 Posted July 2, 2011 I saw one the other day that goes in the trailer hitch receiver. Not sure what site I was on.

Rivco makes one that will fit on a receiver hitch. It will carry your clubs upright. Two pins and it's off. You can hook up one of the LED light bars and fasten it to the bracket so you'll still have brake and tail lights that are unobstructed. (I did that on the rack I put on mine). Just a thought
barend Posted July 2, 2011 #12 Posted July 2, 2011 I got a sidecar :confused24: Don't play golf though!
GG54172 Posted July 2, 2011 Author #13 Posted July 2, 2011 I've seen the trailer hitch one, but it would block the taillight.

Just a thought I've got this same setup for my golf clubs. It's a cooler rack with an optional 4-leg struts topped off with a U-shaped bracket. I also mounted a light bar. I use a Venturedad receiver hitch. There is some side-to-side wobble while riding and makes the rear end seem a little spongy, but I solved that by attaching bungy cords from my trunk rack to the golf club rack and it rides fine.

Got any pics?
slowrollwv Posted August 12, 2014 #16 Posted August 12, 2014 I quit playing golf when I got the bike. Not enough time for both on a nice day.
jakester Posted August 12, 2014 #17 Posted August 12, 2014 Second on the trailer cooler rack. I removed the cooler rack from my tag along trailer(2 u-bolts) bolted a receiver hitch size square stock in place and drilled a hole for the receiver pin. I just returned from Sturgis with this setup (3000 miles round trip) used it too and from Sturgis for a cooler and fuel can with no issues. With imagination this could be used for a variety of applications. Bill
GolfVenture Posted August 12, 2014 #18 Posted August 12, 2014 Could someone post a picture of the additional brake light added due to the bags covering the stock brake lights.
MikeWa Posted August 12, 2014 #19 Posted August 12, 2014 Get one that goes in the trailer hitch. Then put lights on your golf bag and plug it into the trailer plug. Mike
Venturing Sole Posted August 13, 2014 #20 Posted August 13, 2014 The Rivco web site is: http://www.rivcoproducts.com/products/product.php?productid=448&cat=397&page=1 Hopefully pics from website are attached also.
Venture n Dixie Posted August 13, 2014 #21 Posted August 13, 2014 I don't think they'd allow that on the course here and this is Alabama!

Mike Lights on the golf bag, you say?! Why didn't I think of that? I've got a putter I don't use.......would make a nice w-i-d-e light bar! No DOUBT about which way I'm turning then! I wonder......would HAND SIGNALS cut it with the local gendarme?
cowpuc Posted August 14, 2014 #23 Posted August 14, 2014 The kids and I used to play Minibike Soccer when they were little, worked great until the collision happened.. Maybe we need to invent Venture Golf... Played from the seat of a moving bike I think I could finally find interest in Golf if we did!! If nothing else, it would make for some GREAT pics and video's!!
dacheedah Posted August 14, 2014 #24 Posted August 14, 2014 Yeah I could see the golf course being unhappy about your cart
IronMike Posted August 14, 2014 #25 Posted August 14, 2014 I can guarantee you don't want to do that! I had less than a load than that on the seat that shifted on a turn and put me on my Arse like I was pure steel and ran over a 3000# magnet. Trailer!
