hunter 1500 Posted June 30, 2011 #1 Posted June 30, 2011 I've seen quite a few posts on how much air to use ect but can't find anything on how to let some of the air out of the shocks. Last couple times I just took the hose off the pump and let it out but that's kind of a pain. Anyone got an easier way? Thanks in advance. Oh by the way this is on a 2008 RSTD.
gibvel Posted June 30, 2011 #2 Posted June 30, 2011 If you get a pump, specifically for the shocks, it should have a button on the pump to let air out a little at a time while still watching the gauge. [ame]http://www.amazon.com/PROGRESSIVE-SUSPENSION-GAUGE-MOUNTED-GP3-60/dp/B000GU1BZC[/ame] I've got a progressive pump but you can get Harley branded progressive pumps at Harley dealerships for a good price usually. Another nice thing about them is the no loss chuck so it doesn't let air out when you take the chuck off or put it on. You want one that will go to 60 psi because the rear shock will take over 50 psi.
hunter 1500 Posted June 30, 2011 Author #3 Posted June 30, 2011 (edited) I have a pump made just for this but I didn't see a release valve on it. I'll have to check again. The one have is like the one in this post. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40830&highlight=hand+pump Edited June 30, 2011 by hunter 1500
Condor Posted June 30, 2011 #4 Posted June 30, 2011 I think the pics show the button on the oposite end of the 'T' away from the guage.
hunter 1500 Posted July 1, 2011 Author #5 Posted July 1, 2011 Yes it does have one. I feel so stupid now. I looked at it last night and saw it right away.
