royalstarjac Posted December 7, 2007 #1 Posted December 7, 2007 Anyone here ever go to Americade? We're thinking about going this coming year. Ride the BRP and Skyline drive, up to Americade, visit a friend in Vermont and then back in NY to visit family there. Got the Americade times in the mail yesterday and now I'm psyched up and starting to make plans. Any recomendations on where to stay?-Jack
nyjerry Posted December 7, 2007 #2 Posted December 7, 2007 I have gone for the last four years and have started makeing plans for this year again. My daughter would like to go this year after see the pictures. so I bought her a bike. It's a good time for touring bikes. Jerry
WilCruise Posted December 7, 2007 #3 Posted December 7, 2007 Yep. It's a pretty good take. Best when the weather cooperates. At that time of year it's a crap shoot on that front. Tons of bikes, heavily bent toward touring, lots of vendors if you need some toys or bling, and the manufacturers are usually all represented if you want to see new models etc. They set up a bunch of entertainment and events & rides. Nice area for rides with some great country roads in the area. I'd recommend it. I'll be there again next year.
VTirelli Posted December 8, 2007 #4 Posted December 8, 2007 Been to a few of them, we always stayed at the Holiday Inn in Rutland Vt. About an hour away from Lake George but they have a special for bikers, about $90 a night, they set up abike washing station, and its a nice ride to Lake George. Always a good time and always spent too much money at the vendors.
Brake Pad Posted December 8, 2007 #5 Posted December 8, 2007 Had been going since 1984 good places to stay, outside of lake george is up in the Adirondacks, In like, Keene Valley, Lake Placid, Upper Jay, Jay, Scroon Lake, Elizabethtown, essex. Nice riding through the mountains. I'm going back up this year also. Leaving ft.Lauderdale Florida, ridng up to Orlando (hopping on the train), off in Virgina, then back on the road again. (3 days up).
Older... Posted December 8, 2007 #6 Posted December 8, 2007 We lived in the Lake George region most of our lives. In fact my better half has the honor of being their '96 Queen. Maybe someday we can return during the Americade week, but not next year. Any who attend should have a great time...

Brake Pad Posted December 9, 2007 #9 Posted December 9, 2007 I got pictures of a little girl riding in the (Red Fire engine-Trailer), back in 87-88. who's little one was that, and who do I send the pictures too. I was with the Royal Knights MC at the time, out of Plattsburgh, New York. I have a few pitures of your group from back then. I'd say the Girl was about 4 or 5 at the time.
