Anybody know how much of a drop I need for water to drain properly on a cement porch. Right now I'm looking at 4" over a 12 foot span. Haven't poured yet, just framing it

Most of the contractors I've worked with did 1 to 1 1/2 inches for 10 feet. Four inches on 12 feet should be more than enough. A lot of it is based on usage. You would want to be more aggressive on an exposed patio and less on a covered porch.

1/4"/ft. is what most slabs require. If you get less than that you will have ponding since it is hard to get the fininsh that close and still keep fall. I spent nearly 50 years in heavy highway construction.

Well, if 1/4" is whats the common number here then I did good. 3" drop over 12' Appreciate all the responses. It's all framed in and looking to Fri or Sat to pour. Even got another area ready to accept the overage I always seem to have in front of cave making it easier to get bike out. I hear thats important lol. Thanks again everybody. God Bless and ride safe.
