You might make it Randy. I got some spare Hydrocodones wonder how many it would take???

Your neighbors must be making you see the light.

Keep this up and you may get back to your former employer. As a full time guest.

Dan you really need to know what kind of building you are going to put up before you pour a slab. If you want to put up a metal building the slab will need to have a ledge around the top edge for the sheet metal to sit in ( 2x2) around the top inside of the forms. If you don't you will have both air and water leaks at floor level.

That sounds like my office. air and water leaks at the floor level. Metal building on a slab built by a WV Contractor. Now I know how all the bugs get in. Not sure where the snakes come from, the squirrels just come in the open bay door.:confused24:

Dan I feel for you neighbor. I thought I would check in on the garage and found people talking about the 500 posts to this thread. Wow with all the good weather this winter Dan, I just can not believe that garage is not done yet. I am still hanging in there for you though. Good luck my patient friend.

I guess I do not have your patience. I called the Workers Comp people about two weeks ago and ask if a check had been mailed to Frankfort for me yet. They replied that yes finally a check had been mailed since the 5 weeks I have been off work. Then a week later I called Frankfort to hear what they had to say because my check was not in the mail yet. Well then three days later I ask them if it had been mailed out yet and their reply was that the lady whom does this has been off work.

So I ask to speak to the office manager. I told him that it was high time that someone would take hold of the rings and get things started. I told him that since the check had been there for the week and three days, that they had time to eat it and digest it and put it back together and still have it to me quicker than that.

Two days later the check was at the post office and I had to go over and sign it for they sent it certified. I filled the information and signed the check and sent it back to them certified. So that is how the system works. By the way it cost me $5.30 cents to send that envelope certified.

Since then when I call the workers comp people or Frankfort main office of Transportation, I ask for the manager. I told them that they are not dealing with a up the holler hillbilly here, but a Hillbilly in fact and that I meant business and that I expected more response and no disrespect, just as I have not treated them with any disrespect.

OK, I am off my high horse now. Hope you get that aggravating garage done soon.

I thought the metal would extend over the edge of the concrete??
If you hang the sheets over the edge of the slab you will have a 2x2 hole every foot or so along the bottom of the wall. If you look at how the sheets are formed you will see the channels all of those channels will be open at the bottom. When you put the step in the top edge of the slab the sheets sit on top of the step and that covers the bottom of the channels. You could hang the sheets off the edge and use gaskets to seal the holes but the mice will eat the gaskets then you will have mice bug and snake doors all the way around you man cave.

Looked at my Son-in-laws today. I see what you mean. This is going to take some more Thinking. I had aready figured out a rain grove for the doors. Gonna go over costs again see how much more block would be. I am a fairly good carpenter just can't move around that well anymore. But 4 block walls a roof would be easy. I could lay the block myself and get done about 2020. Beats the rate I'm going at now.

I called the last one back. Didn't really want to but I've heard his memory is bad. Does great work. He said weather kept him away. Snowed that day and he would be here this week??? Attitude sucks but I'm getting desperate. I would not have left anyone hanging like that without saying something.
