Yammer Dan Posted January 31, 2012 Author #451 Posted January 31, 2012 Sunshine and 63 out there. Looked at garage site and said screw it and took "Brown Sugar" out for some therapy.
RedRider Posted February 1, 2012 #452 Posted February 1, 2012 I have a 24X48 pole barn garage and not big enough, so I also have...er had.....2ea 10x12 sheds. Last nights storm took out 1 of them . (shhh, it was just the wifes yard sale stuff) brought bucket truck home from work and used it to lift tree off, then raise roof that was at about 3feet AGL. She still gonna make me get her another one, guess I got my work cut out for me this weekend. Naaah, that'll buff out. RR
Yammer Dan Posted February 7, 2012 Author #453 Posted February 7, 2012 Looks like winter ain't gonna show. Time to get started again.
Yammer Dan Posted February 7, 2012 Author #455 Posted February 7, 2012 Think I'll work on my tan today.
pickinfred Posted February 12, 2012 #456 Posted February 12, 2012 Dan, I spent most of the day working on vBPicGallery and marking dates on the calendar for grandson's fishing days, rides, bluegrass music and pictures. Garage Plans ???? Meet and Build ?? if M&B...Date?? I have a 2X4 cuttin chain saw!
Yammer Dan Posted February 13, 2012 Author #457 Posted February 13, 2012 Getting the concrete done is first. Getting company out of Charleston to do it I think. Not sure what type of building I'm going with after I get something to sit it on. May go block. Maybe stick maybe metal.
Yammer Dan Posted February 13, 2012 Author #459 Posted February 13, 2012 I think it is better. I tried all those fly by night contractors last summer and look what I got. Go with big company this year. May cost more but I'll get it done. I've got stuff stacked up to do the inside just gotta get it built.
Yammer Dan Posted February 22, 2012 Author #460 Posted February 22, 2012 Getting warmer out there. Could have poured concrete anytime this winter I think.
Flyinfool Posted February 22, 2012 #461 Posted February 22, 2012 Yes you COULD have. Gettin lazy?????? Gettin old??????? Just go do it. Like I should talk.......
Yammer Dan Posted February 22, 2012 Author #462 Posted February 22, 2012 I got a few more ideas over the winter. One of them makes it bigger again.
Flyinfool Posted February 22, 2012 #463 Posted February 22, 2012 Bigger is better when it comes to garages.
KIC Posted February 22, 2012 #464 Posted February 22, 2012 Smaller in reality is still bigger than in fantasy.. Just a thought.... Kinda like a 2nd Gen thinking they are faster than a 1st Gen...
Yammer Dan Posted February 23, 2012 Author #465 Posted February 23, 2012 I started too small. I won't go thru what I did last year. I can frame this thing up and have M&E is necessary but pouring concrete is no fun. That will be a last resort. I can't believe how sorry the contractors around here are these days. But I got a plan!!
Yammer Dan Posted February 26, 2012 Author #466 Posted February 26, 2012 Played around with tapeline out there for a while yesterday. Might be able to salvage most of those footers.
FROG MAN Posted February 26, 2012 #467 Posted February 26, 2012 Want something done got to do it yourself. We got contractors around here?
Flyinfool Posted February 26, 2012 #468 Posted February 26, 2012 Get busy, digging trenches, pouring footings, stacking block and pushing cement is a better workout than what you can get in a gym. Then you can find all of the mussels that you were ignoring in the gym.
Yammer Dan Posted February 26, 2012 Author #469 Posted February 26, 2012 Want something done got to do it yourself. We got contractors around here? None that want to work!!
FROG MAN Posted February 26, 2012 #470 Posted February 26, 2012 I know some ole boys who will work all day long for some of them Hydro tax exempt funds. I know an old girl who will...................... for some. I guess the US Currency is changing around here.:rotf:
Marcarl Posted February 27, 2012 #472 Posted February 27, 2012 Don't know if I mentioned this before,,, but if I were to redo my shop, I would run the hydro on the inside surface of the wall, so as I could make changes a whole lot easier in the future.
Dano Posted February 27, 2012 #473 Posted February 27, 2012 Heck, after kickin' off the Hydro's (meds) this weekend, I'll get out in my yard and start some work today!! Sunny and 50 by this afternoon! At least get a rake out and get started Dan!
Yammer Dan Posted February 27, 2012 Author #474 Posted February 27, 2012 I'm working on a Scyamore tree that was about 125 ft tall now lying in pieces all over my yard. Thats a lot of Wood!!
Dano Posted February 27, 2012 #475 Posted February 27, 2012 Good thing you missed the house when you dropped it!
