reddevilmedic Posted June 20, 2011 #1 Posted June 20, 2011 OK, FIRST OF ALL, THANKS EARL AND KARL. I REALLY APRRECIATE YOUR HELP. I RECIEVED THE FUSE BLOCK KIT, AND INSTALLED IT PER DIRECTIONS. I HAD ONLY ONE QUESTION, AND EARL WALKED ME THRU IT OVER THE PHONE. THANKS AGAIN! I FELT SO INSPIRED, THAT I REMOVED THE CMU TO SEE IF I HAD BROKEN SOLDER JOINTS. MAYBE THATS WHY I HAD NO TAILLIGHTS. YEP, SURE DID! I RESOLDERED THOSE AND VOILA!!, TAILLIGHTS!. THEN, AS I WAS RIDING TODAY, MY TACH KEPT DROPPING TO ZERO, BIKE SPUTTERS, THAT BACK TO NORMAL. CHECK OUT SOME THREADS, AND DECIDED TO CHECK OUT STATOR WIRING. HOLY CRAP! TALK ABOUT A MESS! SO I REPAIRED THE ENDS WITH WATERPROOF BUTT CONNECTORS, NO MORE SPUTTER. THIS SIGHT IS AWESOME!!:cool10:
Globewalker Posted June 20, 2011 #3 Posted June 20, 2011 I like that low profile fuse block.. where'd you get that?
Squidley Posted June 20, 2011 #4 Posted June 20, 2011 I like that low profile fuse block.. where'd you get that? Keith, You can pick up one very similar at Autozone or Advance Auto. Cooper Bussman makes a 6 position fuse block, I have installed several of them on 2nd gens and RSTD's. If your looking for something like that let me know and we could install one on your bike.
reddevilmedic Posted June 20, 2011 Author #5 Posted June 20, 2011 i got it from skydoc. here, in the classifieds.

dingy Posted June 20, 2011 #10 Posted June 20, 2011 That was my Jabs, Digs, and Pokes effort for this afternoon. And yes on the no caps thing, don't care about the shouting, it's hard to read. That's why I make my type large and double spaced, so older people from WV can read it. Gary

skydoc_17 Posted June 20, 2011 #13 Posted June 20, 2011 Hey Mike, Thanks for the kind words! That looks to be a first rate job on the fuse box upgrade there! As I offer with ALL the kits I sell, sometimes a few words of support over the phone make all the difference when working on a project that you are not familiar with. It was my pleasure to help you with this project. Keep up the good work, Earl
KarlS Posted June 20, 2011 #14 Posted June 20, 2011 Nice talking to you on the phone. Glad I could help and glad you got it all figured out. These 83's can be a pain until you figure out all the bugs. Now go for a ride.....Karl

Thanks Brad, I already have one installed that looks like this. It just looked like that other one was more streamlined. But probably once you take in to consideration all the wires on both sides, they probably take up about the same amount of room. Keith
