MasterGuns Posted June 17, 2011 #2 Posted June 17, 2011 Is there a difference between MK1 and MK2 exhaust?
dingy Posted June 17, 2011 #3 Posted June 17, 2011 Mounting flag on top of exhaust is different location for one. Gary
Squidley Posted June 17, 2011 #4 Posted June 17, 2011 Is there a difference between MK1 and MK2 exhaust? The MKII's had the turn down spouts because of the saddlebags, the MKI is strait out. I think there wouldn't be any issue besides the cosmetics of the spring retaining clip on a set of MKII pipes.

MasterGuns Posted June 17, 2011 #9 Posted June 17, 2011 Mounting flag on top of exhaust is different location for one. Gary Gary, Can you please explain in a little more detail. Did you mean to type "flange" vice flag. I am wondering why my right side muffler doesn't seem to go on the collector very far. If I push it on further, the mounting hole doesn't line up with the mount on the passenger floorboard. Would this the effect of my right side muffler being a MKI when it should be a MKII?
paysaw Posted June 17, 2011 #10 Posted June 17, 2011 If I am right,I think the hang points were changed in the 86 and up models.

Would this the effect of my right side muffler being a MKI when it should be a MKII? Reason I say they are different is I put passenger floorboards on my 83 (frame at this point) that came from an MKII. I had to put an 'adapter' on to get the muffler hanger(flange I called it before) to line up. This was about a 3 inch difference, so I doubt that is your problem. Drawing of adapter attached. And a picture or two. Gary
