GolfVenture Posted June 14, 2011 #1 Posted June 14, 2011 I have a 4 ft by 8 ft trailer with 3 ft sides with the back open but braced. I want to install some tie hooks so I can transport my 89 VR if I had to someday. My question is where are the best places to install these hooks?

I have a 4 x 8 utility trailer that I use to transport my 99 RSV, I had 4 D rings welded to the outside of the floor frame, about a foot from each end.
Bubber Posted June 14, 2011 #3 Posted June 14, 2011 I just went to Menards and bought 6 rope rings with bracket (99cents) (that were suggested) to place 3 on each side of a 4X8 trailer that I am enlarging to 4X9 1/2 to accomodate my bike. I hope that helps. because those guys over on my posts are no dang help at all.
RichD Posted June 16, 2011 #4 Posted June 16, 2011 ... I am enlarging to 4X9 1/2 to accomodate my bike... Bubber, I had a wheel notch installed in the front rail of my 4 x 8 trailer, which allows me to push my RSV a little further forward, so I was able to stay with 4 x 8. Rich

Flyinfool Posted June 16, 2011 #6 Posted June 16, 2011 The wheel notch is something to consider. If you extent the rear of the trailer the balance may be off from the bike being to far back and cause towing problems, till you also move the axle back.
