vintagewindmc Posted June 14, 2011 #1 Posted June 14, 2011 Hey Guys thanks for the help on the bars now I was gonna change plugs just took a quick look got all the side covers off but doesn't seem to be enough clearance is there an easy way:rotf:or a trick to get swap em ? Oh its an 83 Thanks Tom
bkuhr Posted June 14, 2011 #2 Posted June 14, 2011 sparkplug socket/ratchet to break loose/tighten. 3" piece of rubber hose that slides over/grips insulators, and spin out-in with fingers.
frankd Posted June 14, 2011 #3 Posted June 14, 2011 BTW, I think it takes an 18mm socket. I like the 'official' Yamaha toolkit plug wrench, and that's what I use. Frank
sarges46 Posted June 14, 2011 #4 Posted June 14, 2011 That original tool works well. Dont forget to blow out any foreign stuff before you take the plug out...you really dont want something falling in there.
Dano Posted June 14, 2011 #5 Posted June 14, 2011 If you don't have the Yammy tool, get a thin-walled 18mm socket (Kobalt makes a nice one), swivel joint and 6" extension. Like told, blow out the debris before you remove the plugs.
