Hulign Posted June 13, 2011 #1 Posted June 13, 2011 So I borrowed my Vmax back and let my buddy take the Venture for a week. It's been a few months now since I sold it. I climbed on the Vmax and it felt like a toy! Light, easy to change direction and the POWER! Haha First time I wound it thru first and hard into second it stood right up. I giggled my butt off till about 30 miles into my ride.... then the pain set in. The rearsets never seemed so extreme and the seat was like concrete. It was nice to have the wind in my face again but it was an odd experience to say the least. I guess that explains why the Venture is already gaining miles. Also explains how I managed 600 miles back home last week without being crippled. So now I need an extra 50 HP on my Venture. My Vmax dynoed at 135 HP or so I think the Venture needs to have more cause of the extra weight the Venture is wearing. Maybe after the warranty is up? Frank
FROG MAN Posted June 13, 2011 #2 Posted June 13, 2011 Thats why I sold my Vmax. Very fast and fun to ride but a killer for comfort. I would have like to drop that motor in the 84 but I could loose the kerker exhaust.
mini-muffin Posted June 13, 2011 #3 Posted June 13, 2011 Well our dealer has someone he orders risers for our customers with VMax. Evidently they make them not sure who it is, boss man doesn't let us in on his secret contacts. Oh I work for our dealer as well. Margaret
V7Goose Posted June 13, 2011 #4 Posted June 13, 2011 A VMax does not need to be faster, but it DOES need to be prettier (tried to dig my own eyeballs out first time I ever had the misfortune to look at one). You know any way to do that short of putting it in a crusher? Goose

Hulign Posted June 13, 2011 Author #6 Posted June 13, 2011 Haha to each their own but I loved the looks of my Vmax. As for comfort, it was ok when it was just me and short trips around town. It was the longer highway stuff that did me in. Mine had sportbike wheels and radials which helped a lot in the looks department to me.
