1rooster Posted June 12, 2011 #1 Posted June 12, 2011 The purpose of this ride was to test the 1stgen and the 2ndgen towing my bunkhouse camper. Here are the results. A.Standing start, bike 1 very noticable a trailer was behind me Standing start,bike2 less noticable a trailer was behind me B.Acceleration.bike 1sufficient power up the mountains. bike 2.about same as bike 1. C.Braking..bike 1,few scary moments going downhill bike 2 much more stable downhill D.Left turn at intersection.bike 1.Felt like trailer was trying to push the bike straight ahead. bike 2.felt like the bike was actually pulling the trailer through the turn. In conclusion Bike 1 will never tow the bunkhouse trailer again. Bike 1.1986 Venture Royale Bike 2.1999 RSV with sidecar. The above is "MY" opinions and "MY" observations.OH,by the way,the 1stgen got 31 MPG and the 2ndgen got 30MPG.
