yankeereb Posted June 10, 2011 #1 Posted June 10, 2011 My wife and i were riding to work this morning about 5:30. We were crusing about 50 mph through a curve when 4 deer suddenly jumped out of the ditch in front of us. I hit the brakes and managed to thread our way through the deer without hitting any. There was only about a bike length between the deer. I had to stop and wait until I quit shaking so we could continue the trip. The car behind us stopped and stated that he did not believe we made it through without hitting any deer.

CaptainJoe Posted June 10, 2011 #3 Posted June 10, 2011 Glad you are ok! At the MD Quakerstate Steak and Lube parking lot, I saw three deer trying to jump the fence to get to rt 90's exit ramp. Luckily they didn't make it and turned around and ran away...
Trader Posted June 10, 2011 #4 Posted June 10, 2011 I counted no less than 5 dead deer on the Hiway between Oberlin and the NY state border on Sunday morning.
Panjandrum Posted June 10, 2011 #5 Posted June 10, 2011 There are some lousy hunters in North America!
OB-1 Posted June 10, 2011 #6 Posted June 10, 2011 Glad you guys made it tween the deer! Fortunately for us, the severe winter, which still seems to be hanging on, really dropped our deer population. But there's still some out there just waiting for an inattentive biker...
Mr.G Posted June 10, 2011 #7 Posted June 10, 2011 Good job keeping the focus. Always time to panic and fall apart later.
