Close encounter of the Bambie kind

My wife and i were riding to work this morning about 5:30.

We were crusing about 50 mph through a curve when 4 deer

suddenly jumped out of the ditch in front of us. I hit the brakes and

managed to thread our way through the deer without hitting any.

There was only about a bike length between the deer.

 

I had to stop and wait until I quit shaking so we could continue the trip.

The car behind us stopped and stated that he did not believe we made it

through without hitting any deer.

glad you made with out injury. i was in Ohio for MD and i cant beleave how many deer i seen either alive or dead just glad it wasnt me that hit one

At the MD Quakerstate Steak and Lube parking lot, I saw three deer trying to jump the fence to get to rt 90's exit ramp. Luckily they didn't make it and turned around and ran away...

I counted no less than 5 dead deer on the Hiway between Oberlin and the NY state border on Sunday morning.

Fortunately for us, the severe winter, which still seems to be hanging on, really dropped our deer population. But there's still some out there just waiting for an inattentive biker...

It's not the hunters - we just have a bunch of horny bucks here in Ohio
