I want to add lights to the front and back of my 2006 Royal Star Venture any suggestions? All I have on the bike right now are the stock lights that came on it and I've been told that I'm not very visable at night. I have installed a blinking headlight module and that really helps with catching peoples attention during the day but not usable at night.

Ok,

You asked for it!!!

Here is the list:

Passing Lamps (HID or Kuryakin LED are the preferred to be seen without excuses).

LEDs, LEDs, LEDs, LEDs, and also before to forget about more LEDs.

(Remember that your battery has limits as well as your alternator, so LEDs are the solution).

Remember to add lights not only on the front, but also to be seen from the rear....

Regards,

Calperin

I've replaced my 50W fog lights with 35W driving lights (2.5") from O'Reilly's. $25.00 I did look at the Kuryaken (sp?) but they were almost identical to what I got for three times the money.

Wally world has some similar for $6 less and I would be back at the 50W lights, but the wiring comes out the back as opposed from the bottom and I did not see a rubber grommet around the wire.

I do get a slight jump in the volt meter when I turn them on, but not nearly as bad as the 50W. Of course all my running lights and tail/brake lights are LED's. I've got mine tucked in tight on the old horn brackets (MkI) which does prevents me from widening my light field. Oh, and looking in a plate glass window, they are brighter then my HID headlight.

Maybe I need to point them a little better:think::think::D

Just two TLAs to remember. LED and HID.

Both pull less power than incandescent and are brighter at the same time.

Don't forget to get some light on the sides of the bike either. You can add a lot of LEDs with very little power draw.

I just ordered some 50w driving lights for the 06 RSTD. Think I am going to have a charging issue with these? I am installing a switch to turn them on/off.

Add some LED strips running up and down the frame between the saddlebags and fender. They look great and light it up well
