I slotted the holes on the trunk rack where it mounts to the bike so I could take it on and off quickly and easily.

 

I'm not sure if slotting the trunk rack is all that safe... The forces at play will allow that trunk to fall off the back if those 4 screws aren't real tight (I've had mine loosen up in the past)... How much longer does it take to remove the screws or just partially loosen them... If you really want to speed up the process you could use a cordless drill with a allen wrench and remove/install the trunk in a minute... Besides if I'm not mistaken you should use shorter screws on the fender strut if you take the trunk off... I know I had to use shorter screws when I took my grab handles off because they wouldn't screw in all the way...
