congrats. That's the seat I have on my 06 RSTD.

I'll be receiving my "butt buddy" on Monday, demanded by the wife. She is very uncomfortable on the pillion portion.

I too was extremely unhappy with the seat for the first 3 or 4 thousand miles I rode on it. Very very firm.

The seat was installed on the bike when we bought it from the PO. I didn't get the factory seat so I have nothing to compare the comfort/discomfort to.

Now that I guess it's broken in for me, I look forward every time we ride to slipping on down in it. Really starting to love it after 6K miles.

Mine came with the corbin rider backrest too. Wouldn't leave home without it.

Ya, my wife says she's not sure about it... says she slips around a lot more... but, we haven't even gone anywhere on it yet so, we'll see how she feels after tomorrow's day ride to wherever.

Now, just what is a "butt buddy" ??

Interesting to read that your wife says she slips around on it more. That is exactly what my tailgunner is reporting, and I figured it would get better with more miles, but after a few thousand miles, that still has not happened. It may be in the design of the seat though. The Mustang seat was wider and less slanted forward. I too have the driver's backrest, and that helps me a lot. My seat has the star stitched in and I'm looking for a used, in good condition, passenger trunkrest to match the seat.

We'e going to look around today for something that will make it more comfortable for her. She says the way the seat is designed, it is more like our '87. She was "ok" with that seat but really likes the stock seat the most.

You are going thru what I went thru..I loved my Corbin,Wife hated it..I had tot ake mine in to an upholster guy here in Austin Tx ALONG with my wife so She could describe how she wanted it to feel so they redid HER part of the seat and she was happy from then on.

I found out that a Corbin on my FJR was very hard. I finally got used to it, but it took a LONG time...It was also VERY slippery. I finally got some stuff from a saddle shop that made it less so. I "think" if you ever get it broke in you'll like it ok. Corbin's are kind of a love it or hate it thing...

Well, we had a nice long ride today... on the Corbin. ...

Wife says... nope... can't sit right, sits about 1.5 inches higher, too hard...

I say... ohhhhhhhhhhh... my butt!!! it's so numb and sore... worse than the stock seat.

So, here's the deal, I want to try a pillow top seat both driver and passenger. I'm going to try and see if anyone local wants to make a swap. If I get no takers, then it's open to anyone here and if that don't work, then I will sell the Corbin.

I'll keep ya posted and btw, one of the Trial members has already spoken for it if I sell it. I figgure tho that he'll have to become a paying member first....:stickpoke: :stickpoke:

If momma is not happy, then changes will happen. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going to do a 10 day trip in two weeks. After that I will decide what to do. If I am going to change, I will most likely have a seat built by RUSSELL . I've heard very good reviews on the seats.
