Rickster Posted June 1, 2011 #1 Posted June 1, 2011 Has anyone removed their rear Barons kit and put their RSV back to stock height. If so what kind of project is this and what needs to be done. Thanks
eusa1 Posted June 1, 2011 #2 Posted June 1, 2011 you will need stock leveling links, and stock rear brake caliper location bracket, real easy job, might take you an hour if you don't work too fast.
Hulign Posted June 1, 2011 #3 Posted June 1, 2011 You could just put the stock links back in and leave the rear caliper as is. in that case like 15 mins or so to switch links.
steamer Posted June 1, 2011 #4 Posted June 1, 2011 I removed mine,so I could install a voyager trike kit.Easy to do,you will need stock links and stock brake bracket.Very cheep on pinwall.they have a bunch of them.some folks here may have what you are looking for.Thats where I got my links.I can't believe how much it improved the handling when on 2 wheels, by going back to stock. The lowering kit turns the rsv into a wallowing beast.jmo
Rickster Posted June 1, 2011 Author #5 Posted June 1, 2011 Do you need to remove the rear wheel to put the stock brake bracket on? I have a lowered front to with the Barons kit I plan on leaving that lowered for now. It should be just like putting leveling links on I think.
Hulign Posted June 1, 2011 #6 Posted June 1, 2011 The rear wheel doesn't have to be removed but you do have to pull the axle(bags, muffler(s?), pull the caliper (including pulling the brake line) and bleed the system. Unless you are planning on selling the parts or 100% sure you will never go back to lowered I would leave the brake in place. It isn't hurting anything where it is. Frank
