StarFan Posted May 31, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 31, 2011 Have been feeling a little powerless to say the least for the last couple of weeks and I finally was so weak that I had our secretary fly me home from Norway a.s.a.p so I could be checked out by my doctor. I was situated very remote in Norway and getting to a hospital with all the right equipment was a complicated thing. To put a long story short he immediately made arrangements for a coronary catheterization and the operation was performed yesterday. There was a blockage at the end of one of the artery branches that caused my lack of power and my doctor inserted a stent in the artery to keep it open. WOW,,,I have color in my face again Feel like a champ and was lucky that this came up before my trip to the USA but I am coming in 10 days. Have the doctors permission to go - he just told me to take shorter riding days if I felt tired. So I thank God for watching over me and healing me before my trip. I am wondering how having the procedure done and the stent installed is going to affect your medical insurance coverage for the time youre in the US? I am curious as my father had the same procedure done a few years ago and the insurance companies denied him medical insurance for that condition while he was in the US. Words can no express how sad I would be, to put many, many, many, many miles on your new, RED Second Gen. RSV without YOU! Every time I would ride that RSV, I would think of the miles we rode together, and the good times we shared together! It would be hard, but I would continue to ride that new, RED, RSV, just to MAKE SURE, it didn't just sit around, and go to hell from neglect! :whistling:Now that I have your attention Jonas, get yourself feeling better, and get your butt over here, so we can get some "therapeutic" riding under our belts! I am sure we will be able to have "Handicapped Parking Only" spaces set aside all over the US. I will start to work on a mount for your RSV to attach your "walker"! Perhaps this year, instead of the "Black Death", you could smuggle some "Ensure" from Iceland, although we do have it here! Lastly, I am sure I will be able to take MRS. JONAS dancing, and roller blading in your stead, I would NEVER let the wife of such a dear friend spend a moment alone in a faraway land by herself. Now that I got you good and "fired up", get your butt over here, let's do some riding, and let the healing begin! Earl P.S. That's just not fair...I worked hard this weekend and I think I strained some muscles that I didn't even know I had. I want some pampering too. Seriously, we are really glad that the treatment was a success Jonas. Hope you can get some rest that you are in much need of before your trip. We look forward to your visit. I joked with a buddy at work that had two heart attacks and asked him numerous times "whats a heart attack feel like?' He told me to quit fooling around and go to a Dr. I blew him off with a grin. Then one morning at work I had the big one. My left chest hurt and went down my left arm. Then the icepicks went into my neck and I could not breathe. I laid on the floor for 5 or 10 minutes before anybody noticed me. Then the amulance hauled me out to the hospital. The Doc did a cath and told me I was getting a stent. I did not have heart damage, just severe angina. I was blocked 70/75 % in my heart arteries. Whoa! I dont need that! Im 54! They took me into surgery and I watched my heart beat on a screen as the Doc inserted the stent.The he smiled at me and said "George you are getting two today." I remember he was playing 'Start me up' by the Stones in the background. After a few days I felt warmer and had more pep than I had in years. I have put alot of HARD miles on this body and thank God that he gave me another chance to enjoy my life. Now I have to cut down the steaks and burgers. Actually talked to my insurance company today and they assured me that this had no effect on my policy. Had them put that in writing to be on the safe side So glad that you are going to be ok. Her Dr. checked the veins in her neck and found they were both 80% blocked. They took veins from her leg and put them in her neck and she was her old self again.
