BoomerCPO Posted December 1, 2007 #1 Posted December 1, 2007 Despite 26 degree temp.....Took delivery of my RSV this morning; did my pre-ride checks of the bike; and hit the road. Put 350 miles on her today and it was a sweet ride I tell ya! I am very impressed with the handling and power of this RSV. It meets all of my expectations and then some. Now I get to spend the next 2 months cussing our Winter weather here and doing the "wax on-wax off" routine with the bike. C'mon Spring...... Ride safe all......Regards....Boomer
Guest Popeye Posted December 1, 2007 #2 Posted December 1, 2007 Where are pics ?? We like pics. Now is 01 Dec...in CT. That's a lot of waxing. But, as long as roads are dry & you don't have to park for any length of time......... I spent my first 46 years in MI & remember the feeling.
Guest rockslammer Posted December 1, 2007 #3 Posted December 1, 2007 Congrats. on the new ride I hope to do the same thing sometime this winter. Good Luck:322:
midnightventure Posted December 1, 2007 #4 Posted December 1, 2007 350 miles in 26 degree weather is pretty hard core.
pegscraper Posted December 2, 2007 #5 Posted December 2, 2007 Indeed, and on a brand new bike. A hardy soul. Well done.
BoomerCPO Posted December 2, 2007 Author #6 Posted December 2, 2007 350 miles in 26 degree weather is pretty hard core. My wife's term is "NUTS".......
eusa1 Posted December 2, 2007 #7 Posted December 2, 2007 it was 19 degrees here when i went for a ride this am. now we are having an ice storm and its time to get one of the enduros out of the garage and toss it around :ICshocked:
Yama Mama Posted December 2, 2007 #8 Posted December 2, 2007 Glad you enjoyed your ride on your new RSV! Ride safe and let's see photos. Peggy:big-grin-emoticon:
Mariner Fan Posted December 2, 2007 #10 Posted December 2, 2007 350 miles in 26 degree weather is pretty hard core. It's hard core indeed. Did you bundle up or did you freeze? I rode around town today just to warm up the engine. Froze my ears off.
BoomerCPO Posted December 2, 2007 Author #11 Posted December 2, 2007 It's hard core indeed. Did you bundle up or did you freeze? I rode around town today just to warm up the engine. Froze my ears off. I cheated and wore fleece-lined jeans,a snowmobile suit, and my heavy leather jacket. I also wore a full-face helmet with face shield. I didn't get cold but I wasn't sweating either. The set-up on the bike kept most of the wind off of me and that made a big difference it seems. I'll get the wife to take some pics of the bike and get them into my Photo Album here as soon as I can. Ride safe all............Boomer
Dano Posted December 2, 2007 #12 Posted December 2, 2007 Got one in last night, about 40 miles all together, found a new "hidden" twisty close by to check out in the future. Went to High School basketball game, they all thought I was nuts. Heck, it was only in the low 30's! Got one in, though! Dan
Condor Posted December 2, 2007 #13 Posted December 2, 2007 I gotta take my hat off to ya, but agree with your wife. It got down to 35 degs here yesterday and I caged it the 60 miles to the Meet'n'Eat. Plug in the windchill factor at 70mph and it's just too nippy for this OF..... Just for the heck of it I searched and found this wind chill chart. Brrr... And here's a calculator that will give you wind chill effect at any combination of temp and speed.
SilvrT Posted December 2, 2007 #14 Posted December 2, 2007 Froze my ears off. PICS... you must post pics!!!
BoomerCPO Posted December 2, 2007 Author #15 Posted December 2, 2007 I gotta take my hat off to ya, but agree with your wife. Well I had mitigating circumstances for doing the ride.....I don't know anyone who would pick up a new bike and NOT hit the road with it as I did. The thought of just bringing the bike straight home and parking it in the garage would bring me to tears I tell ya. Anyhoo.....the ride was sweet and nobody can erase my memory of it. ps: I'm an OF and proud of it.....and I never trust a fart either.
