I give you ladies a lot of credit for riding pillion (anybody want to tell me how to pronounce that word?). I don't think there is anybody I trust enough to do that myself.

Put a B in place of the P and pronounce it... Now put the P back at the beginning and pronounce it the same way only with a P. :Bunny:

Last year I had a V* 950. Not really set up for passengers. She rode with me once, found it uncomfortable to sit on. Hadn't since.

This year I traded up to to the RSTD. Had her sit on it before I bought it. She said it was better. That was 4 weeks ago. Yesterday I called her at work to see if she wanted to meet for lunch. She said 'come pick me up'. 10 km across town in traffic. She enjoyed it, but didn't like all the stop & go. Took the highway back. Liked that a lot. Still finds the seat 'iffy'.

We'll see when the Ultimate seat set comes in this week.

My wife Barb and I had our first date on my 305cc Yamaha in 1969. We've been married almost 41 years now. We've travelled all over the eastern 2/3 of this fine country and she's been a great travelling partner. She doesn't care how fast we accelerate, how fast we go, how fast we stop, or how far we lean. In fact, she only gets nervous when something drags in a coroner. When we rode our XS-750 (Yamaha triple) that used to happen quite a bit. When we bought the first Venture in 83, dragging parts pretty well went away because everything is tucked in so well on the First Gens. We're looking forward to me retiring the end of this year so we can have enough time to ride U.S. 66 out to California and then ride back on U.S. 30.

My Marilyn was alot like that as well. WELL GAWD man, do you BLAME her?!?! She rode twice with me on journeys. Once was to the first "International" in Potatoe Creek in 05. After that trip I knew that she would not be with me again. WELL GAWD man, do you BLAME her?!?! She too needed to be in control and is basically an Alpha female. We got her a bike and she is happy as a clam.

She had to ride once more with me on a longish trip but that was because she couldnt ride because of knee surgery. or was it because she had to decide whether or not to stay married to a alpha female rider like YOU?:rotf:

Those that know her know she can ride, fixes stuff herself, carb tunes my bike for me ( yes, fellas its true!). When she got her bike I made her learn how to work on her bike so she wouldnt have to depend on me if I wasnt around.

There are a few other things she is very good at as well....but we wont get into that.:cool10::whistling:

Still trying to get GF to even try to sit on the bike.

Back in High school her BF of the time took here for her first ride, she spent the next 3 months in the hospital.

Understandably, she is a little skeptical of getting back on, even now 40 years later.

Images, your tagline lists a Honda CM400A Automatic.

That sure brings back memories. Way back in 1980 or so, me and my girlfriend at the time bought a nice used green one that had black saddlebags and a windshield...what a nice easy city bike that was. Of course, back then I weighed much less than I do now. Anyway, she rode the 400 and I rode the 750 Suzuki all over the area. We sure had fun with that bike.

We sold it for what we had in it a year or so later...kinda wish I still had it.

I dont suppose you would be inclined to post some pictures of it would you?

For whatever reason, we never took any pictures of the bike. I do have pictures of the girlfriend...but she passed away many years ago.

Oh and BTW...many women enjoy riding pillion...( see I didnt say the 'other' word...theres hope for me yet!)

:innocent:

It is a fun bike, up for sale right now cuz the hubby says 4 motorcycles and three scooters are too many (what does he know?).

Here is the CL ad with photos:

My wife bas a 98 600 shadow but likes to ride on back with me too. Does she trust me, she reads books and takes naps. I don't mind the reading, but the maps still make me nervous.

I guess she figures I kept a goldwing up while coring a deer, she is safe to take naps.

My wife has ridin with me always. I got her to take motorcycle training to get her endorsment. It has helped wirh riding with me because she knows how a motorcycle has to lean now. I even let her steer or lean in sum corners.:bighug:

We went for another ride yesterday, 50+ miles through twisties, highway, hills and dales.

It was a lot of fun. I think it's good for me to be the follower instead of the controller sometimes.

Tom is a very good rider, turns out. I was still a little nervous in the beginning of the ride, but I got comfortable soon enough.

Time to take a trip to. . .Sante Fe?
