Freebird Posted November 30, 2007 #1 Posted November 30, 2007 Interesting story. I KNOW it's not necessary...but I would sure like to ride it. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycles/triumph-rocket-3-turbo/index.htm
RedRider Posted November 30, 2007 #2 Posted November 30, 2007 The article also speaks highly of the internal engineering of the Triumph stock engine and drivetrain. The Rocket is a beautiful machine. The Rocket - Turbo .... is just nuts!! RR
yamahamer Posted November 30, 2007 #3 Posted November 30, 2007 WHEN ARE WE GONA MAKE ONE FOR MY VENTURE?
Freebird Posted November 30, 2007 Author #4 Posted November 30, 2007 Well....I think the article said that the conversion was about 11,000 euro...that would be USD $16,245.27. They need not hurry on my account.
eagleeye Posted November 30, 2007 #5 Posted November 30, 2007 I rode one of those Rocket 3s, and the advice my buddy gave me, was to hang on when you twist the grip. Man, that thing is fast, I can't imagine a turbo. Equally impressive are the brakes. Steve
Stoutman Posted November 30, 2007 #6 Posted November 30, 2007 I think that makes the bike look better at least. To me that stock Rocket III motor looks more like a tractor engine than a motorcycle engine. I'm sure I'd love it if I had one to ride. Triumph is coming out with a touring edition of the Rocket III. They left off the trunk though.
BoomerCPO Posted November 30, 2007 #7 Posted November 30, 2007 Suicide bike.... plain and simple.........
yamahamer Posted November 30, 2007 #8 Posted November 30, 2007 Well....I think the article said that the conversion was about 11,000 euro...that would be USD $16,245.27. They need not hurry on my account. WOW! that makes nitrous sound real good:rotf:

FROG MAN Posted December 1, 2007 #11 Posted December 1, 2007 We talked with the owner of this guy last summer on our way to florida. He was all smiles until I ask him about fuel economy.
GigaWhiskey Posted December 1, 2007 #12 Posted December 1, 2007 Outdoing the suspected future VMax a bit there on HP. Wonder if they figured out the tire issue that I read Yamaha had with the VMax.
FROG MAN Posted December 1, 2007 #13 Posted December 1, 2007 If I didn't have the 84 I might. Nah mamamo would kill me.:rotf:
RoadKill Posted December 1, 2007 #14 Posted December 1, 2007 They left off the trunk though. And the fairing, radio and cruise. Not much of a touring bike IMHO! I need saddlebags just to ride around town:rotf:cause I'm always preapred for almost anything. Even have collapsable camp stools!
Snarley Bill Posted December 1, 2007 #15 Posted December 1, 2007 you can buy a new kaw zx14 for $6000,00 less than the turbo costs and blow it's doors off.
bikerscape Posted December 1, 2007 #16 Posted December 1, 2007 On the gl1800 site their is a guy working on a turbo for the GW. Rear mounted -- has pics too. http://www.gl1800riders.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=100195 to 195 hp, torque to 230 ft lbs ... so he says

Guest hank Posted December 2, 2007 #18 Posted December 2, 2007 I just wish my old Monte Carlo SS had a supercharger on it (2004 & 2005 models only). Oh well 200 hp versus 240 ain't that much different. Now they got V-8s with 300 hp. Wow!
