FROG MAN Posted November 30, 2007 #1 Posted November 30, 2007 I came home last evening to tragic news. The kids meet me at the door. Dad Dad the INTERNET IS DOWN! I called repair service the trouble was statewide. We sat around and had one of those stone age evenings.Wiped the dust off the TV and it still works. 4:00 am this morning and were back online. A hot cup of coffee and life is back to normal.:rotf:
Squidley Posted November 30, 2007 #2 Posted November 30, 2007 We are a pathetic lot aren't we The internet goes down and we say to eachother what do we do now Glad to hear it cleared up, I know how MO gets when she can't come on here and stir the pot
halfwitt Posted November 30, 2007 #3 Posted November 30, 2007 That's scary news there Frogman. At least we have TV. Can you imagine what it must have been like for our parents when they were young. They would've had to listen to the RADIO when the Internet went down!
Freebird Posted November 30, 2007 #4 Posted November 30, 2007 Just wait until you are trying to maintain a site such as THIS ONE. When we crashed a little over a year ago, I was on a business trip. At about the same time as we crashed, the Internet went down at the hotel. I ended up sitting in the parking lot of another hotel from about midnight until almost 5:00 AM rebuilding the site and getting it back up.
mother Posted November 30, 2007 #5 Posted November 30, 2007 our Rogers cable was off for two and half weeks in July and five days in September, boy talk about withdrawals. they now have a temp line running to the house since september, signal is crappy and we still have to pay for this service. we are seriously thinking of going to the telephone company to get the Bell internet.
Freebird Posted November 30, 2007 #6 Posted November 30, 2007 Yea, our cable here is terrible and very limited. I know it doesn't help you because I don't think it's available in Canada but I ended up going with Dish Network a couple of years ago and have been SO much happier. I don't get my Internet through them but TV is much better.
MamaMo Posted November 30, 2007 #7 Posted November 30, 2007 Me Squid :stirthepot: NOT I. Mama Mini and I are :2143::innocent::2132:. But then I was at work and didn't know about the crisis. Internet down Chat down.
