csogbk Posted May 14, 2011 #1 Posted May 14, 2011 Had a few questions I was hoping someone could answer: Will any Harley touring bike mufflers work or are the Road Kings prefered? Can they be any year, I understand newer ones have a catalytic converter in them, does this affect sound or my RSVs engine? Will adding these mufflers require any engine adjustments? Are the brackets sold on the classifieds page still being made? Thank you for any assistance!!!!
flb_78 Posted May 14, 2011 #2 Posted May 14, 2011 Had a few questions I was hoping someone could answer: Will any Harley touring bike mufflers work or are the Road Kings prefered? Any off the FL series. Can they be any year, I understand newer ones have a catalytic converter in them, does this affect sound or my RSVs engine? Only the left one has the converter in it. There should be no ill effects from running a converter on one side, but it may sound "funny". Will adding these mufflers require any engine adjustments? no, the backpressure comes from the restrictive headpipes, not the mufflers. Are the brackets sold on the classifieds page still being made? I would assume that if they're still being advertised, that they're still being made. You would have to contact the seller.

FutureVentures Posted May 17, 2011 #4 Posted May 17, 2011 "Are the brackets sold on the classifieds page still being made?" Negativo when I asked the seller a few weeks ago, he isn't making them anymore.
Grisolm1 Posted May 17, 2011 #5 Posted May 17, 2011 PO of my 03 welded some short brackets to the saddle bag frame. I'm out of town so can't take photo but its a real simple piece of straight bar stock piece. Welded at two points with two holes I think.
Freebird Posted May 17, 2011 #6 Posted May 17, 2011 Where do you see these in the classifieds? I just looked and didn't see them listed any longer. I was going to delete the ad.
SilvrT Posted May 17, 2011 #7 Posted May 17, 2011 There are instructions for making your own brackets here on the site. Try ... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showpost.php?p=112227&postcount=7 http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showpost.php?p=112976&postcount=8
csogbk Posted May 17, 2011 Author #8 Posted May 17, 2011 Freebird I must have been looking at a link to an old post, my apologies. I got a set off EBay for $24.00 and will use P clamps to install. Still need topic up the V Twin clamps. Going to see if one of my local HD shops have them. Thanks for all the input guys!!
MidnightSpook Posted May 17, 2011 #9 Posted May 17, 2011 I've seen the clamps on ebay also. I always search under Royal Star Venture under the parts section.
