elag Posted May 13, 2011 #3 Posted May 13, 2011 Number 24: Hiway 17 South Carolina is cool. Kind of like a ride on the Vomit Comit if you go fast enough.

Mike G in SC Posted May 13, 2011 #7 Posted May 13, 2011 Number 24: Hiway 17 South Carolina is cool. Kind of like a ride on the Vomit Comit if you go fast enough. I grew up in Beaufort County, SC. Sorry to say,,, that road ain't in Beaufort County,, and sure ain't Hwy 17. Beaufort is a coastal county, FLAT, lots of islands (some know of Parris Island (oorah), also Hilton Head. And Hwy 17 is a throughfare to go from Charleston to Savannah, now all 4 lanes in the county. Sorry, no whoop-t-doos. But pretty low country scenery. Yeah, I'd like that one too. If you want one hell of a cool single hump (almost airborne) try the Old Fanning Bridge Rd, where it hits Hwy 191 just west of the Asheville, NC airport. That's a throttle-up PUCKER! So much fun, you will turn around several times to try it both east and west. And the end by the airport is all curves. Not a epic road but one slick whoop-t. Mike G in SC
