I know it is still early, but by this time I normally have quite a few registrations for Vogel. As of right now I only have 6 registrations and the sales of the raffle tickets are very low. Raffle tickets are $10.00 ea. or 3 @ $25.00. So far we have a Dell D620 Laptop, 2 4 GB MP3/Video players, and I am hoping to add a GPS and a digital camera to that.

You do not need to be at Vogel to win...............

The poll is not showing very promising numbers either, so if you do plan on coming please go to the poll.

Remember, all the money we raise by raffles, t-shirt, patch sales, and by any other means goes to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

If you want to order a shirt or a patch just drop me a pm and I will add you to the list. The shirts should be somewhere between $18.00 to $20.00 and the patches are $5.00. If you register for Vogel each registration get a shirt and a patch.

Hey Lew, I wanted to bump this back up for you to see if you can get some responses. As for me coming to Vogal, at this time I really don't know if I can make it. I am still trying to do what I can with going to my first Oberlin MD.

I gave up on trying to put together any kind of extended weekend meet & eat at Asheville next month due to the lack of responses. I even posted a thread saying " Let's talk about Asheville" and got about 90 hits and not one single comment. Even in the earlier threads there was very little response. Actually, after I noted that I cancelled it and advised the KOA campground not to set aside an area for us, I started getting some interest.

Lew, you put together a great event at a very nice campground and the times I have been there have been very enjoyable. I would love to be able to give a good commitment as I want this to be a very special year for me after going through last year and my divorce. I also am fortunate to have a very special person now in my life that I would like to share Vogal with that loves to ride and camp with me.

So, anyone reading this, give Lew some good feedback and encouragement as he and Charlene put a tremendous amount of effort into this.

My husband and I plan to be @ Vogel this year. Our plans are to ride up Fri and leave sun. We haven't registered yet because College starts the following Monday or tues and if he has any last minute things that need to be taken care of with the College he needs to be available. I don't forsee us changing plans to not be there. However murphy's law dictates when we set things in stone to be somewhere other events tend to pull us away. I'm even asking our roomie to go to Vogel with us. Pencil us in for Fri-Sun we should be there for those days lol.

We're all going to be there as a family event this year including Skid the Kid.

This will be his first year attending Vogel. :clap2:

Getting a little nervous as I have actually received only 4 registrations by mail, and the raffle ticket sales are very slow also. I haven't even sold enuff tickets to cover the prizes..........Maybe its the economy or the Intl. Rally holding things back, but last Vogel the Intl was the prior week or two ahead, and attendance was very good, even had some folks do both events. Maybe people are getting tired of Vogel, it is the longest running VentureRider event.

I had really high hopes that we could raise enuff money for Vogel to beat those North Alabama Road Riders in their fund raising event but now I have my doubts. This is really making me think hard about future events. They take a lot of planning and a lot of mine and Charlene's personal time, and its actually the only vacation we take together, at least we travel there together, once its on we are apart for most of the day while we are on rides. She has been my steadfast supporter for something she thought I was foolish in undertaking in the beginning.

I just hope that once MD is over and the Intl is over that I will have a flurry of activity on registrations and ticket sales. I would still like to add a GPS to the raffle.

Also door prizes from my preferred Vendors aren't coming through as they usually do...........the economy again, why give it away when we can sell it............its all about the bottom line for most corporations today.

Well that my vent for today, I will get off my:soapbox:

I would really like to make it, but if we decide we can go, it will be last minute. I am supposed to work for two of those days, and we also have both of our Sons deploying overseas in August. I don't know yet, what day they're shipping out. As it gets closer, we'll have more details to work with. We are taking them on a vacation in late July, before they deploy, so that will probably drain us.

Hi Lewis

We will be there and bringing our Grandaughter with us. I have an RV site and I will be there on Wend. morning. I am bringing a grill for the Raffle and will get tickets when I get there.

Looking forward to seeing a large crowd this year.
