2010pburgfish Posted May 6, 2011 #1 Posted May 6, 2011 Is there a Bleed screw for the Cooling system??? Everything with Coolant SHOULD have one! Also having trouble getting the rear caliper cover ( Flat Black Cover ) back on. Seems simple. Many Thanks bf
RandyR Posted May 6, 2011 #2 Posted May 6, 2011 Look for an article by V7Goose on how to drain the cooling system. I think its in the 2nd Gen Tech Library. Never had problems with the rear caliper cover, so I'm not sure may be the problem.
twigg Posted May 6, 2011 #3 Posted May 6, 2011 Most cooling systems are "self-priming". Any remaining air in the system is pumped to the highest point and vents into the coolant reservoir. Fill it, run it until hot and when it cools you can adjust the level in the tank. It will be lower than when you started if there was air trapped.
Eck Posted May 6, 2011 #4 Posted May 6, 2011 Black plastic Caliper cover issue. Get a flashlight and look down inside the rear caliper and see if you can see the very small locking pins located at each end of the outer brake pad. One or both of these pins is most likely turned and sticking in an upward position stopping the plastic cap from snapping in place. All you need to do is take a flat end screw driver, and turn (push) those locking pins in one direction (or the other) to where they are facing inward...now the plastic cap will snap on in place. Radiator/ cooling system does not have a bleed valve that I know of...
