slickster Posted May 3, 2011 #1 Posted May 3, 2011 Did a 350mi ride with the queen yesterday and noticed a disturbing noise near the differential, today it's going crick...crick...crick...as the wheel rolls slowly....thinking somehow the diff is shot, oil clean, took sensor out and teeth look fine...check the forum and learned it might be the diff pins being dry....broke it down, cleaned and greased with honda moly 60....noise gone...Thanks to the powers that be....Mick
Globewalker Posted May 3, 2011 #2 Posted May 3, 2011 Yea your right.. I had good help doing all that and new tires at a local SE Texas Maint Day recently. Its a helpful bunch around here!
SilvrT Posted May 3, 2011 #3 Posted May 3, 2011 Not even 5000 kilomters on my scoot and it was doing that. Factory doesn't know what "grease" means!
Freebird Posted May 3, 2011 #5 Posted May 3, 2011 Take a look at this thread. It shows them well. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13263
KiteSquid Posted May 3, 2011 #7 Posted May 3, 2011 BUT use Honda Moly60 to grease it. your splines and pins will out last you if you do..
