MrRadi8 Posted November 27, 2007 #1 Posted November 27, 2007 This is cool as hell. Wouldn't be much fun in a pouring rain, but otherwise would come in very handy. http://www.disappearing-car-door.com/
yamahamer Posted November 27, 2007 #2 Posted November 27, 2007 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR BATTERY GOES DEAD? YOU GET STUCK IN YOUR CAR:rotf::rotf:BUT THAT IS COOL AS CRAP!
mraf Posted November 27, 2007 #3 Posted November 27, 2007 Gotta agree its different. Around here thou it would be frozen shut in the winter. Also what would happen if it went closed while your trying to take that kid out of the back seat. Oh, I know, I know two mommies now instead of one!:rotfl:
Guest ReinyRooster Posted November 27, 2007 #4 Posted November 27, 2007 Awesome idea but certainly raising some safety issues, as mentioned. It doesn't discuss the issue of accidental activation with someone in the way, that would be a big safety question. Don't know how well that would work in the extreme cold, as with the bottom of the car covered with slush. Like the idea though.
Eck Posted November 27, 2007 #5 Posted November 27, 2007 Its pouring rain, wind blowing 30 MPH..........you open both doors, cool, the whole car gets washed inside....such a deal...yep real cool invention, makes me want to run out and buy one.... Accidently run up over a curb, bash in the rocker panel, yep your stuck in the car ......I want one.. Im not near as "skinny" as the two women are in the Mpeg...I still couldnt get in between both cars... You pull in your driveway, its raining, you open the door to get out, and the neighbors pet dog or cat jumps in to get out of the rain.. yep, there goes that interior...heck, may as well open the other door so you can chase the pet out and get the whole interior rinsed off.. It would be great to get rid of that drunk whos' sleeping with thier head on the passenger front window...!!!
MrRadi8 Posted November 27, 2007 Author #6 Posted November 27, 2007 You just honk your horn and somone comes to give you a jump...no, wait. No juice = no horn. Crap.
MrRadi8 Posted November 27, 2007 Author #7 Posted November 27, 2007 And if not, then you have the option for a new one.
MrRadi8 Posted November 27, 2007 Author #8 Posted November 27, 2007 Do the auto closing doors on the mini-vans have anything? The tailgates also close now. Looks like it might go internal vice external. If not, just riding on wet roads would coat the interior of the door.
MrRadi8 Posted November 27, 2007 Author #9 Posted November 27, 2007 See? It has its +'s and -'s already! Not sure it's much different than opening your regular door in the blowing rain if you both get out at the same time. Lose some weight and stop running over stuff!
mraf Posted November 27, 2007 #10 Posted November 27, 2007 Ok, now design it to tuck in the roof line therefore keeping it out of the slush. Install auto stops in emergency situations. HUMMM MAYBE?????
