New trailer needs an ice chest rack

Hi Guys!

 

I just purchased a friend's (pull behind the bike) trailer and it has the perfect place to mount an ice chest cooler rack right between the hitch and the bed. So, now I'm looking for some suggestions where to look for this type of rack. It would also be nice if I could use it alone (on the hitch) without the trailer. Anyone have some ideas or pictures to share?

As far as a system that does both....cant help....I dont think Ive seen one yet. Squidly has a rack that mounts on the hitch in the classified section. If the Squid made it you can be sure it will be quality!

 

You hitch would need to be the type that has the insert bar...or square removable one.....ya get what Im trying to spit out! lol

I made my own rack for my cooler out of .125 aluminum sheet and bent the sides. how about a pic of what you got so it will be easier for us to make suggestiions that are helpfull.

Rivco has a neat cargo carrier that attaches to the trailer hitch - it is so you can use the ball hitch and also have the adapter mounted to attach the cargo carrier.

I do the same thing with my rack and trailer that you are wanting to do. I use the cooler rack with my receiver hitch for most trips...weekends, etc.

But for longer journeys we pull a trailer. My rack frame unbolts from the drawbar that came with it (2 bolts, 5 minutes) and then I use the same mounting holes and bolts to mount it on my trailer tongue. Works great.

Price is low enough that I wouldn't care to make one on my own.
